Match Summary

From the opening whistle, Chongqing Lvyin looked to impose themselves physically, pressing high and winning the ball in dangerous areas. Luneng Football School U14, despite being a year younger, demonstrated remarkable composure on the ball and created several clear chances. The match was a classic contrast of styles: power versus precision, and it was the home side that ultimately prevailed in a five-goal thriller.

First Half

Chongqing took the lead in the 8th minute when their striker, Li Wei, pounced on a loose ball inside the box and slotted it home. Luneng responded well and equalised in the 21st minute through a beautifully worked team goal, finished off by their captain, Zhang Hao. However, Chongqing regained the advantage just before half-time when a powerful header from a corner found the net, making it 2-1 at the break.

Second Half

The second half was equally compelling. Luneng U14 came out with renewed energy and levelled the score at 2-2 in the 54th minute with a stunning free-kick from 20 yards out. But Chongqing’s physicality and experience told in the end, as they scored the winner in the 78th minute through a well-placed shot from the edge of the area. Despite late pressure from Luneng, Chongqing held on for a valuable three points.

Standout Performers

Li Wei was the hero for Chongqing, scoring twice and leading the line with intelligence. His hold-up play allowed his teammates to join the attack. For Luneng U14, Zhang Hao was outstanding, dictating tempo and scoring a brilliant free-kick. His maturity beyond his years suggests a bright future. Chongqing’s goalkeeper also made a crucial save in the dying minutes to preserve the win.
