Wuhan Jiangda Women delivered a commanding 3-0 victory over Zhejiang Hangzhou Women in the CFA Women’s Super League on 25 October 2026. A dominant first-half display set the platform, and two further goals after the break completed a win that strengthens Wuhan’s position among the league’s leading contenders.

Match overview

Wuhan Jiangda Women began brightly, pressing Zhejiang Hangzhou Women high and forcing the visitors into a series of rushed clearances. The hosts’ midfield controlled the tempo, switching play from side to side and creating overloads in wide areas. Zhejiang tried to defend in a compact block, but they struggled to keep possession long enough to relieve the pressure.

The opening goal arrived inside the first quarter of an hour, and Wuhan never really looked back. Their movement off the ball was sharp, with the front three rotating positions and dragging defenders out of shape. Zhejiang Hangzhou Women improved slightly after half-time, but Wuhan’s second goal early in the second period effectively settled the contest. A late penalty added gloss to an impressive team performance.

Key moments

• 12th minute: Wuhan Jiangda took the lead when Zhang Lin met a corner at the near post and guided a header inside the far corner.
• 49th minute: Liu Yan doubled the advantage, winning the ball high up the pitch before driving into the box and finishing low.
• 73rd minute: Zhao Yu converted a penalty after a handball was spotted inside the Zhejiang area.
• 85th minute: Zhejiang’s best chance came from a free-kick, but Wuhan’s goalkeeper dealt with it comfortably.

Tactical story

Wuhan Jiangda’s 4-3-3 shape gave them control in midfield and allowed their full-backs to push forward without leaving the centre-backs too exposed. The front three pressed in coordinated bursts, cutting off passing lanes and forcing Zhejiang into long balls. When Wuhan won possession, they attacked quickly through the half-spaces, with Liu Yan particularly effective at carrying the ball between the lines.

Zhejiang Hangzhou Women sat deep in a 4-4-2 block and tried to deny space centrally, but they were stretched by Wuhan’s width. Their best moments came from set pieces and occasional counter-attacks, but the final pass was missing. Once Wuhan scored the second goal, Zhejiang’s defensive discipline began to fray, and the hosts created chances at regular intervals.

Standout players

Zhang Lin’s opening goal and overall link play made her a constant threat, while Liu Yan’s energy and direct running caused problems throughout. Zhao Yu’s composed penalty was just reward for a lively second-half display. For Zhejiang, the goalkeeper made several saves to keep the score respectable, and the captain in central defence worked hard to organise a back line under sustained pressure.

Season impact

The three points are significant for Wuhan Jiangda Women in the CFA Women’s Super League standings, especially with goal difference potentially decisive in the title race. The clean sheet will also please the coaching staff, as will the spread of goals across different players. Zhejiang Hangzhou Women will need to regroup quickly, but they can take some encouragement from their improved second-half organisation. For Wuhan, this was a statement performance and a reminder of their attacking depth.
