Sichuan Women 1-2 Shaanxi Zhidan Women: Late Away Goal Settles Tight CFA Women's Super League Contest

Sichuan Women suffered a narrow 1-2 home defeat to Shaanxi Zhidan Women in the CFA Women's Super League on Saturday evening, with a late goal proving decisive after an evenly contested match at 19:35 local time. The result hands Shaanxi Zhidan an important three points on the road and leaves Sichuan Women frustrated after a performance that produced long spells of control without a matching return.

The visitors started with purpose, pressing Sichuan's back line and forcing a series of early set pieces. That pressure told in the 23rd minute when a well-delivered corner was met by Shaanxi Zhidan captain Liu Yutong, whose header bounced down and into the net to give her side the lead. Sichuan responded well, settling into possession through the midfield and asking questions of the Shaanxi defence with quick switches of play.

The equaliser arrived seven minutes before half-time. Sichuan turned defence into attack in a matter of seconds, with Chen Jiayi finishing calmly after a flowing move down the right. The goal lifted the home side, and Sichuan finished the first half strongly, forcing two saves from Shaanxi goalkeeper Zhao Min either side of the interval.

Key Moments

• 23' — Liu Yutong heads Shaanxi Zhidan in front from a corner.
• 38' — Chen Jiayi equalises for Sichuan Women after a fast counter-attack.
• 57' — Sichuan hit the post through a low drive from the edge of the box.
• 74' — Zhao Min makes a strong one-on-one save to keep Shaanxi level.
• 87' — Substitute Wang Lina scores the winner for Shaanxi Zhidan.

The second half developed into a tactical battle. Sichuan pushed their full-backs higher and looked the more likely side to score for long periods, but Shaanxi Zhidan remained dangerous on the break. The decisive moment came in the 87th minute when Wang Lina, introduced from the bench, latched onto a loose ball in the box and fired low past the Sichuan goalkeeper to make it 2-1.

Tactical Story

Sichuan Women lined up with an adventurous shape and tried to dominate through midfield rotations, but Shaanxi Zhidan's compact defensive block limited clear chances. The visitors were content to concede possession in deeper areas and attack through set pieces and quick transitions. That approach paid off twice, first from a corner and then from a late counter-attack that caught Sichuan stretched in pursuit of a winner.

Standout Performers

Zhao Min was excellent in the Shaanxi goal, making several important saves in the second half. Liu Yutong's leadership and aerial threat gave the visitors a platform, while Wang Lina made the impact every substitute dreams of. For Sichuan, Chen Jiayi was the brightest attacking outlet, and midfielder Li Xiaoyu worked tirelessly to keep her side moving forward.

Season Impact

The win strengthens Shaanxi Zhidan's position in the CFA Women's Super League table and provides momentum for the matches ahead. For Sichuan Women, the defeat is a missed opportunity to climb the standings, though the performance showed enough attacking promise to suggest better results are within reach. Sichuan will need to convert territorial dominance into points quickly, while Shaanxi Zhidan will take confidence from another resilient away display.
