Shandong Jinghua Women B secured a disciplined 1-0 away win over Zhejiang Hangzhou Women B in CFA Women's League One on 23 October 2026, with a second-half goal settling a match that was short on clear chances but rich in tactical discipline. The visitors defended with patience and struck at the right moment to take all three points.

Match overview

Zhejiang Hangzhou Women B controlled much of the ball in the opening half, pushing their midfield higher and looking to create overloads on the left. Shandong Jinghua Women B, however, were well organised from the start, keeping a compact shape and forcing Zhejiang into passes that were comfortable to defend.

The first half produced few genuine openings. Zhejiang's best moments came from set pieces and second balls around the edge of the box, but Shandong's back line stood firm. At the other end, the visitors showed flashes of danger on the counter-attack, with their forwards making intelligent runs into the channels.

The decisive moment arrived in the second half. Shandong won possession in midfield and moved the ball quickly into the attacking third, creating a shooting chance that was converted with a composed finish. Zhejiang pushed harder thereafter, introducing fresh legs and sending more players forward, but the equaliser never came.

Key moments

• 22nd minute: Zhejiang Hangzhou Women B created the first serious chance, but a header from a corner drifted wide.
• 41st minute: Shandong Jinghua Women B broke quickly and forced a save at the near post.
• 57th minute: Shandong scored the only goal of the game, finishing a quick transition move with a low strike.
• 74th minute: Zhejiang went close from a free-kick, but the Shandong goalkeeper dealt with the effort comfortably.
• 89th minute: A late Zhejiang cross caused a brief scramble, but Shandong cleared their lines to protect the win.

Tactical story

Zhejiang Hangzhou Women B had the lion's share of possession, but they struggled to turn that control into clear-cut opportunities. Shandong Jinghua Women B sat in a well-drilled mid-block, denied space between the lines and forced Zhejiang to play in front of them. The visitors were also smart in how they managed the tempo after taking the lead, slowing the game down and taking the sting out of Zhejiang's momentum.

Shandong's winning goal came from the kind of transition moment that defined their performance. Once they won the ball back, they moved it forward with purpose and attacked the space vacated by Zhejiang's advanced full-backs. It was a narrow victory, but a tactically mature one.

Standout performers

Shandong's goalkeeper was reliable throughout, handling crosses well and making one important second-half save. The centre-back pairing was equally impressive, winning headers and stepping out to intercept passes before Zhejiang could build rhythm. The match-winner deserved credit for a calm finish, while Zhejiang's central midfielder was the home side's most persistent performer, constantly demanding the ball and trying to unlock the defence.

Season impact

The result gives Shandong Jinghua Women B a valuable three points on the road and reinforces their reputation as a difficult team to break down. For Zhejiang Hangzhou Women B, the defeat is a reminder that possession alone does not win matches in CFA Women's League One; converting territorial control into shots and goals will be the priority in the next fixture. With the standings remaining tight, Shandong's ability to grind out narrow wins could prove significant as the season progresses.
