Zhanjiang Yuezhan Women claimed a composed 2-0 victory over Dalian Football School Women in CFA Women's League One action on 29 October 2026, turning a tight, tactical contest into a deserved three points thanks to a strong second-half display.

Match Overview

The fixture at Zhanjiang's home ground was billed as a meeting between an ambitious, possession-based side and one of the country's most respected youth development programmes. Dalian Football School Women arrived with their usual discipline and compact shape, while Zhanjiang Yuezhan Women looked to impose themselves early through quick combinations down the flanks.

For long spells the game was defined by patience rather than chances. Zhanjiang circulated the ball well, but Dalian's back line held its line smartly and forced the hosts into wide areas. The breakthrough, when it came, was the product of persistence rather than a single moment of magic.

Key Moments

• First half: Zhanjiang dominated territory but found Dalian's goalkeeper and centre-backs in resilient form, with several crosses cleared at the near post.
• Opening goal: After the interval, Zhanjiang's midfield pressed higher and won the ball in a dangerous area, leading to a well-worked move finished inside the penalty box.
• Second goal: The hosts doubled their advantage later in the half, capitalising on a quick transition and a clinical finish that effectively settled the contest.
• Late resistance: Dalian pushed players forward in search of a reply, but Zhanjiang's back four managed the game calmly and protected the clean sheet.

Tactical Story

The match turned on Zhanjiang's second-half adjustments. By pushing their wingers higher and asking the midfield to press in a more aggressive line, the hosts stopped Dalian from building out from the back as comfortably as they had before the break. That shift created the turnovers that led to both goals.

Dalian Football School Women, meanwhile, showed exactly why they remain a difficult opponent for anyone in the division. Their defensive organisation and willingness to defend as a unit kept the game scoreless for long periods, and their coaching staff will take positives from the structure even in defeat. The difference on the day was Zhanjiang's greater cutting edge in the final third.

Standout Performers

Zhanjiang's midfield engine was central to the win, linking defence and attack and repeatedly finding pockets of space between Dalian's lines. The goalscorers deserve credit for their movement off the ball, while the goalkeeper and centre-back pairing earned praise for a composed shutout.

For Dalian, the goalkeeper produced a number of important stops to keep the scoreline respectable, and the young defensive unit gained valuable experience against a physically demanding opponent.

Table and Season Impact

The three points strengthen Zhanjiang Yuezhan Women's position in the CFA Women's League One standings and add momentum to their campaign. A home win built on patience and second-half control is exactly the kind of result that can shape a season, particularly in a division where margins are often narrow.

Dalian Football School Women will look to regroup quickly, taking encouragement from their first-half discipline while seeking more penetration in attack. The 2-0 scoreline flatters neither side excessively, but it accurately reflects Zhanjiang's superior edge in the decisive moments.
