Fujian Nanan Women and Henan Wanxianshan Play Out Goalless Draw in CFA Women's League One

Fujian Nanan Women and Henan Wanxianshan (W) shared the points in a 0-0 draw in the CFA Women's League One on Friday, October 16, 2026. Despite a lively second half, neither side could find the breakthrough at the Nanan Sports Center, with both goalkeepers producing key saves to keep the scoreline blank.

Match Overview

The match was a classic mid-table battle, with both teams looking to gain an edge in the standings. Fujian Nanan Women, playing at home, started the game on the front foot, looking to use the width of the pitch to stretch Henan's defense. Henan Wanxianshan (W), known for their defensive organization, were content to sit back and absorb pressure, looking to hit on the counter.

The first half was a cagey affair, with few clear chances. The best opportunity fell to Henan's Zhang Xin, whose free-kick from 25 yards clipped the top of the crossbar. Fujian's Li Jiaqi had a shot saved just before the break. The second half was more open, with both teams pushing for a winner, but a combination of resolute defending and excellent goalkeeping kept the game goalless.

Key Moments

• 22' – Henan's Zhang Xin strikes the crossbar with a superb free-kick.
• 45+1' – Fujian's Li Jiaqi forces a save from Henan goalkeeper Wang Fei with a well-struck effort.
• 67' – Fujian substitute Chen Yuanyuan breaks through the defense but is denied by a last-ditch tackle from Zhao Na.

Tactical Breakdown

Fujian Nanan Women lined up in a 4-2-3-1, with Li Jiaqi operating as the chief creator behind the striker. They enjoyed 58% of possession but struggled to break down a packed Henan defense. The hosts' best moments came from wide areas, but their crossing was often dealt with by Henan's commanding center-backs.

Henan Wanxianshan (W) deployed a 5-3-2 formation, with wing-backs tasked with providing width on the counter. Their defensive discipline was impressive, with captain Zhao Na leading by example. They were happy to let Fujian have the ball in harmless areas and then spring forward quickly. The best chance of the game fell to Liu Yan in the 82nd minute, but she couldn't keep her volley down. Henan will feel they did enough to win, while Fujian will be frustrated by their lack of cutting edge.

Standout Players

Wang Fei (Henan Wanxianshan (W)) – The goalkeeper was a tower of strength, making several important saves and claiming crosses confidently. She was a key reason her team kept a clean sheet.

Zhao Na (Henan Wanxianshan (W)) – The captain was imperious at the back, winning every aerial duel and making a crucial last-ditch tackle in the second half.

Li Jiaqi (Fujian Nanan Women) – The creative midfielder was at the heart of everything positive for Fujian. Her dribbling and passing caused problems, but she lacked support in the final third.

For Fujian, Chen Yuanyuan made a difference off the bench with her pace, while Wang Lin was solid at the back.

What It Means for the Standings

The draw leaves Fujian Nanan Women in sixth place, while Henan Wanxianshan (W) remain in fifth. Both teams are now unbeaten in their last five matches, a testament to their consistency. However, with the gap to the top three growing, both sides will need to turn draws into wins if they are to challenge for promotion.

Fujian have now drawn three of their last four home games, a trend they will want to address quickly. Henan, on the other hand, will be pleased with their defensive record but may feel they left two points on the table. This result keeps both teams in the hunt for a top-half finish.
