Alianza Atlético Sullana produced a statement performance in the Copa de la Liga, sweeping aside Sport Boys 3-0 with a display of clinical finishing and controlled aggression in front of their home support.

Match Overview

Alianza Atlético set the tone from the kick-off, pressing Sport Boys high up the pitch and refusing to allow the visitors any comfortable build-up play. The home side's intensity was matched by their composure in possession: they circulated the ball with purpose, drew Sport Boys into midfield duels, and then exploited the space left behind.

Sport Boys arrived with ambitions of controlling the midfield, but they were repeatedly pushed backwards. By the midway point of the first half, the pattern was firmly established — Alianza Atlético attacking in waves, Sport Boys defending in numbers and looking to launch quick counters that rarely found a target.

Key Moments

• Early opener: Alianza Atlético's pressure paid off with the opening goal, finished calmly after a well-constructed move down the flank.
• Commanding second: A second goal before the break gave the hosts a cushion and forced Sport Boys to rethink their approach.
• Defensive solidity: Any hope of a Sport Boys comeback was snuffed out by a disciplined home back line that won its duels and cleared its lines.
• Third goal: The victory was sealed in the second half with a third goal that capped a dominant team performance.
• Game management: With the result secure, Alianza Atlético slowed the tempo and controlled the closing stages without alarm.

Tactical Story

The match was decided by pressing and transition speed. Alianza Atlético's front players worked as a coordinated unit, cutting off passing lanes and forcing Sport Boys into rushed decisions. Every turnover was met with immediate forward movement, and the visitors' defensive structure could not cope with the pace of the counter-attack.

Sport Boys struggled to find a platform. Their midfield was overrun, and when they did manage to progress the ball into wide areas, the delivery into the box lacked quality. It was a night where the tactical battle was lost early, and the scoreline accurately reflected the balance of play.

Standout Performers

Alianza Atlético's attacking players were the headline act, combining fluidly and converting their chances with impressive efficiency. The midfield anchored the display, winning second balls and dictating the rhythm of the game, while the centre-backs delivered a composed, error-free performance.

For Sport Boys, it was a difficult evening, but their goalkeeper produced several saves that kept the margin from growing. Their most encouraging spells came late in the match, when they pushed forward and forced a few half-chances — a hint of the attacking intent they will need in their next outing.

Cup Impact

A 3-0 win in cup competition does more than secure progress; it builds belief. Alianza Atlético's supporters left the stadium with plenty to be encouraged about, having seen their team execute a clear game plan with discipline and flair. The result also strengthens the squad's confidence heading into upcoming league commitments.

Sport Boys must regroup quickly. Cup exits and heavy defeats can linger, so the focus will be on defensive organization and the ability to keep possession under pressure. Both clubs now look ahead, one with momentum and the other with questions to answer.
