Tactical Story

Millonarios B U19 lined up with a 4-3-3 shape that looked to build patiently from the back. Their full-backs pushed high, and the midfield tried to combine through the half-spaces. The plan worked in terms of territory, but Tolima U19’s 4-2-3-1 defensive block remained compact and forced Millonarios into low-percentage crosses.

Deportes Tolima U19 were especially effective in two areas: pressing the first pass after losing possession and attacking the space behind Millonarios B U19’s advanced full-backs. Both goals came from moments when Millonarios were stretched, and Tolima’s front four showed good decision-making in the final third.

Without the ball, Tolima U19 defended with discipline. The midfield duo screened the centre-backs, the wingers tracked back, and the back line held a consistent line to deny through balls. It was a mature away performance in the Colombian U19 League, where managing game states can be as important as technical quality.
