CD Semillas de Vida produced an attacking masterclass at home, defeating CD Ciclos 4-2 in a thrilling Colombian Regional League encounter on Wednesday, 7 October 2026. In a match that delivered six goals, the hosts' cutting edge in the final third proved the difference, as they twice pulled clear of a resilient Ciclos side that refused to fade away until the closing stages.

Match Overview

From the first whistle, Semillas de Vida set the tone. They pressed high, moved the ball quickly through midfield, and looked to get shots away at every opportunity. The opening goal arrived early, setting the stage for a first half full of attacking intent. Ciclos responded well, equalising with a well-taken effort that briefly silenced the home crowd, but the hosts restored their lead before the interval with a composed finish following a slick passing sequence.

The second half was just as open. Semillas de Vida added a third shortly after the restart, seemingly putting the game beyond reach, only for Ciclos to pull one back and set up a tense finish. Any hopes of a comeback were extinguished in the final ten minutes when the hosts scored their fourth, capping a performance that showcased their attacking depth and clinical edge in front of goal.

Key Moments

• Early opener: Semillas de Vida struck inside the first fifteen minutes, rewarding their high-pressing start.
• Ciclos equaliser: A well-worked move down the left ended with a low finish into the far corner.
• Half-time lead: The hosts regained control with a goal just before the break, a crucial psychological blow.
• Third goal: A quick counter-attack early in the second half made it 3-1 and forced Ciclos to chase the game.
• Ciclos fightback: The visitors reduced the deficit to 3-2, creating a nervy spell for the home side.
• Late clincher: Semillas de Vida sealed the win with a fourth goal, finishing off a flowing team move.

Tactical Story

Semillas de Vida's approach was built on verticality and aggression. Their midfielders consistently looked forward first, and the front line's movement created space between the lines that Ciclos struggled to control. The hosts also dominated the wide areas, delivering a steady stream of crosses and cut-backs that kept the visitors' defence under constant pressure.

Ciclos were far from passive. They pressed well in spells and showed real quality on the ball, particularly in transition. Their two goals came from patient build-up and quick combinations, proving they were capable of hurting the hosts. The problem was defensive: too often they were caught with numbers committed forward, and Semillas de Vida punished them ruthlessly. In the end, the home side's ability to score at key moments, just before half-time and immediately after it, proved decisive.

Standout Players

The Semillas de Vida attack was the story of the afternoon. Their central striker led the line superbly, holding the ball up and bringing others into play, while the two wide forwards caused problems throughout with direct running and precise deliveries. The midfield engine room also deserves praise for winning second balls and setting the tempo. For Ciclos, their left-sided attacker was a constant threat and was involved in both goals, while their goalkeeper made several fine saves to keep the scoreline respectable.

What It Means for the Table

This 4-2 victory gives CD Semillas de Vida a valuable three points in the Colombian Regional League standings, boosting their goal difference and reinforcing their reputation as one of the more entertaining sides in the division. For CD Ciclos, the defeat is a setback, but their two-goal display showed they can compete going forward. They will need to tighten up defensively if they are to climb the table in the coming weeks.

Head-to-Head and Looking Ahead

Matches between these two teams have rarely been dull, and this six-goal thriller added another memorable chapter to their head-to-head record. Semillas de Vida will take confidence from a performance that combined attacking flair with enough resilience to withstand a late push. Ciclos, meanwhile, will look to regroup and convert their attacking promise into points. Both sides remain capable of producing high-scoring fixtures, making their next meetings ones to watch in the Colombian Regional League.
