Yulin Mobei Miners edged out Dalian Juxing Shengheng 1-0 in a tightly contested Chinese Football Association Member Association Champions League fixture on the evening of 1 October 2026, a result that underlined the home side's growing reputation as one of the toughest teams to break down in the competition.

A Single Goal Settles a Cautious Contest

Played under the floodlights in front of a vocal home support, the match was decided by the narrowest of margins. The Miners controlled long stretches of possession without ever running away with the game, and their solitary goal proved enough to secure all three points against a Dalian side that defended stubbornly and threatened on the counter-attack right up to the final whistle.

The result extends Yulin Mobei Miners' strong home record in the Chinese FA Member Association Champions League, a competition that brings together member association clubs from across China and offers an important platform for regional teams to test themselves against unfamiliar opponents. For Dalian Juxing Shengheng, meanwhile, it was a frustrating evening in which a disciplined performance went unrewarded.

How the Game Unfolded

The opening exchanges set the tone for much of the match. Yulin Mobei Miners looked to establish rhythm quickly, circulating the ball patiently through midfield and pushing their full-backs high to stretch the Dalian back line. Dalian Juxing Shengheng responded with a compact defensive block, dropping into two disciplined banks of four and inviting pressure before looking to spring forward on the break.

That approach kept the visitors in the game but also handed the initiative to the Miners, who grew increasingly comfortable in the final third. Chances arrived in glimpses rather than waves — a deflected effort here, a headed opportunity from a corner there — and it always felt as though a single moment of quality would decide the outcome.

It was the home side who found that moment. A sustained spell of pressure around the Dalian penalty area ended with the ball worked into a dangerous position and finished clinically, sending the home crowd into raptures and giving the Miners a lead they would defend with real determination.

Key Moments

• The breakthrough: Yulin Mobei Miners' decisive goal arrived after a period of territorial dominance, rewarding their patience in possession.
• The response: Dalian Juxing Shengheng pushed more players forward after conceding, committing bodies into midfield and forcing the Miners to defend deeper.
• Defensive resolve: The home side's back line held firm through a series of late crosses and set pieces, clearing their lines under pressure.
• The final whistle: A goalless second half after the goal meant the 1-0 scoreline stood, securing a hard-fought win for Yulin.

Tactical Story of the Match

Yulin Mobei Miners set up to dominate the ball, using a patient build-up to draw Dalian Juxing Shengheng out of shape. Their midfield trio rotated intelligently, with one player dropping deep to collect possession while the others pushed into the half-spaces to support the attack. The width provided by the full-backs was central to their plan, repeatedly pinning the Dalian wide players back.

Dalian Juxing Shengheng, by contrast, were content to cede possession and defend in numbers. Their discipline was impressive for long periods, and their counter-attacking intent was clear whenever they won the ball back in midfield. The problem was a lack of clear-cut chances: the final pass too often arrived a fraction late, or the Miners' centre-backs read the danger and snuffed out the threat.

Once the home side took the lead, the tactical picture shifted. Dalian had to commit more players forward, which opened space in behind — but the Miners managed the game maturely, slowing the tempo, winning fouls, and defending their box with composure rather than panic.

Standout Performers

The Miners' defensive unit deserves much of the credit for the clean sheet. Commanding in the air and alert to runners in behind, they limited Dalian Juxing Shengheng to speculative efforts for most of the second half. In midfield, the home side's engine room combined energy with composure, repeatedly recycling possession and keeping the pressure on.
