Xingtai Wanshuai claimed a narrow but thoroughly deserved 1-0 victory over Dalian Juxing Shengheng in the Chinese Football Association Member Association Champions League on Wednesday, 16 September 2026. A single second-half goal settled a tense, evenly contested encounter that kicked off at 19:30 and kept supporters on edge right up to the final whistle.

Match Overview

From the opening exchanges, it was clear that both teams understood the importance of the fixture. Xingtai Wanshuai set up with a compact defensive block and looked to spring forward on the counter, while Dalian Juxing Shengheng enjoyed the bulk of possession but struggled to turn territory into clear chances. The first half produced few genuine openings, with both goalkeepers largely untroubled despite some neat build-up play in midfield.

The decisive moment arrived in the 62nd minute. A driving run from Xingtai's midfield forced a save from the Dalian goalkeeper, and when the rebound fell loose inside the penalty area, Chen Rui reacted quickest to stab the ball home from close range. It was a poacher's finish — instinctive, ruthless, and enough to separate the sides.

Key Moments

• 18' — First warning: Xingtai's winger cuts inside and forces a low save at the near post.
• 37' — Dalian pressure: A series of corners tests the Xingtai defence, but the back line holds firm.
• 62' — Goal, Xingtai Wanshuai: Chen Rui pounces on a rebound and fires home to make it 1-0.
• 74' — Woodwork: Dalian Juxing Shengheng hit the post with a header as they push for an equaliser.
• 88' — Decisive block: A last-ditch challenge inside the six-yard box preserves Xingtai's clean sheet.

Tactical Story

Dalian Juxing Shengheng's approach was patient and possession-oriented, but they lacked the final pass to break down a well-organised Xingtai defence. Their best moments came from set pieces, where their height posed a genuine threat, yet the decisive touch eluded them.

Xingtai Wanshuai, meanwhile, executed their game plan almost perfectly. They defended in disciplined numbers, pressed selectively, and attacked with purpose when turnovers occurred. The introduction of fresh legs in the second half added energy to their counter-attacks, and the winning goal came directly from that renewed intensity.

Standout Players

Chen Rui will rightly take the headlines for his match-winning contribution, but Xingtai's centre-back pairing was equally important, repelling wave after wave of Dalian pressure in the closing stages. The goalkeeper's commanding handling of crosses gave the defence confidence throughout. For Dalian, their captain in midfield was a constant source of creativity, and the striker who struck the post was desperately unlucky not to level the score.

Table and Season Impact

This result hands Xingtai Wanshuai a valuable three points and strengthens their position in the standings as the competition moves deeper into its schedule. For Dalian Juxing Shengheng, it is a frustrating afternoon — a game in which they saw plenty of the ball but ultimately paid the price for a lack of cutting edge.

With the Chinese Football Association Member Association Champions League continuing to deliver tight, competitive matches, both clubs know that the margins between victory and defeat remain razor-thin. Xingtai will look to build on this momentum, while Dalian must regroup quickly and rediscover their finishing touch in front of goal.
