Žižkov began with the greater urgency and were rewarded in the 11th minute when Tomáš Vávra pounced on a loose ball near the edge of the penalty area and guided a low finish beyond the Táborsko goalkeeper. The home side’s high press caused problems early on, but Táborsko gradually settled and found an equaliser in the 34th minute through Lukáš Mach, whose powerful header from a corner beat the goalkeeper at the near post.

The visitors looked the more dangerous side after the interval and took the lead in the 58th minute. Filip Matoušek broke clear on the counter-attack and kept his composure to finish across goal, silencing much of the home crowd. Žižkov responded with a series of substitutions and pushed more bodies forward, and their persistence finally paid off in the 86th minute when Klusák curled a precise effort from the edge of the box into the far corner.

Tactical story

Viktoria Žižkov lined up with an aggressive pressing approach, looking to force mistakes in Táborsko’s build-up. That strategy worked well in the opening half-hour, but it also left space behind the defence when the visitors managed to play through the first line. Táborsko’s compact midfield and quick transitions made them dangerous on the break, and their second-half goal was a perfect example of that plan coming together.

Žižkov’s response was to widen the pitch and increase the tempo of their passing. The introduction of fresh legs in wide areas gave them more crossing opportunities, and the equaliser arrived from a moment of individual quality rather than a sustained spell of pressure. Táborsko will feel they did enough to win, while Žižkov can take credit for refusing to accept defeat.

Standout performers

Vávra was central to Žižkov’s best moments, combining energy with intelligent movement between the lines. Klusák’s late goal underlined his importance in big moments, while Mach and Matoušek were Táborsko’s most effective outlets. The head-to-head remains finely balanced, and both teams showed enough quality to suggest they will remain competitive in the promotion race.

Table and season impact

The draw adds another point to both tallies and keeps the Chance Národní Liga standings tight in the upper-middle pack. Žižkov remain in the hunt for a promotion play-off place, but dropping points at home will frustrate a side that has often been strong in Prague. Táborsko, meanwhile, continue to look resilient on the road and will take confidence from a performance that combined defensive discipline with sharp counter-attacking.
