Wuhan Three Towns B 0-2 Haimen Codion — Chinese Football League 2

Haimen Codion produced a disciplined away performance to beat Wuhan Three Towns B 2-0 in the Chinese Football League 2 on Friday, 18 September 2026. The match began at 17:00 local time, and the visitors’ clean sheet was built on solid organisation, sharp counter-attacking, and a clinical edge in both halves.

Match Overview

Wuhan Three Towns B saw plenty of the ball, especially in the first half, but struggled to break down a well-drilled Haimen Codion defence. The visitors were happy to concede possession in less dangerous areas and then strike quickly when turnovers occurred. That approach paid off with a goal before the interval and a second after the break, leaving the home side with too much to do.

Key Moments

• First-half opener: Haimen Codion took the lead with a composed finish after a quick break down the right, catching Wuhan Three Towns B short at the back.
• Goalkeeping intervention: Wuhan Three Towns B forced a strong save from the Haimen goalkeeper shortly before half-time, denying the hosts an equaliser.
• Second goal after the restart: Haimen doubled their advantage early in the second half, converting a set-piece opportunity with a powerful header.
• Game management: The visitors slowed the tempo, kept their shape, and limited Wuhan Three Towns B to low-percentage attempts in the final 30 minutes.

Tactical Story

Wuhan Three Towns B tried to control the game through midfield rotation and patient build-up, but their final pass was often delayed or misplaced. Haimen Codion’s back four stayed compact, protected the central corridor, and forced the hosts wide, where crosses were easier to defend. When Haimen won the ball, they moved it forward with purpose, targeting the spaces behind Wuhan’s advanced full-backs.

The second goal changed the match’s psychology. Wuhan Three Towns B increased their urgency and pushed more players forward, but that only made them more vulnerable to counters. Haimen managed the closing stages intelligently, using substitutions to break up rhythm and keep fresh legs in midfield.

Standout Performers

Haimen Codion’s goalkeeper was a key figure, making a vital save at 1-0 and commanding his penalty area well. The centre-back who scored the second goal delivered a complete defensive display, while the midfield anchor repeatedly broke up Wuhan’s attacks. For Wuhan Three Towns B, the young midfielders showed energy and intent, but the team lacked a cutting edge in the final third.

Table and Season Impact

The win gives Haimen Codion another valuable three points in the Chinese Football League 2 and reinforces their reputation as one of the division’s more organised sides. For Wuhan Three Towns B, the result is a learning experience for a development-focused squad. They will need to convert possession into clearer chances if they are to climb the table.

Haimen’s away form will be a major factor in their season. If they continue to defend this well and take their chances on the counter, they will be a difficult opponent for any team in the league. Wuhan Three Towns B, meanwhile, will focus on improving their attacking patterns and reacting better to setbacks.
