Guangzhou Dandelion Alpha 1-2 Dalian Yingbo B — Dalian Yingbo B produced a composed away performance to claim a 2-1 victory over Guangzhou Dandelion Alpha in Chinese Football League 2 action on Saturday, 24 October 2026. The visitors overturned an early deficit at the Guangzhou venue, scoring either side of the interval to take all three points and leave the home side to reflect on a frustrating afternoon.

Match overview

Guangzhou Dandelion Alpha started with purpose and looked the more aggressive side in the opening quarter-hour, pressing high and forcing Dalian Yingbo B into a series of hurried clearances. The home team’s reward arrived in the 23rd minute when a flowing move down the right ended with a low finish into the far corner, sending the home supporters into early celebration.

Dalian Yingbo B responded well rather than folding. The reserve side gradually settled into possession, using the width of the pitch to stretch Guangzhou’s midfield block. Their equaliser came four minutes before half-time, a neatly worked move that pulled the home defence out of shape and allowed a close-range finish. From that point, the contest became far more balanced, with both teams trading spells of control.

Key moments

• 23' — Guangzhou Dandelion Alpha open the scoring: A quick break down the right created space inside the penalty area, and the finish was kept low and accurate.
• 41' — Dalian Yingbo B equalise: A patient passing sequence ended with a decisive final ball, and the visitors made no mistake from inside the box.
• 58' — Guangzhou push for a second: A free-kick from the edge of the area forced a diving save from the Dalian goalkeeper.
• 78' — Dalian Yingbo B score the winner: A counter-attack caught Guangzhou short at the back, and a composed finish sealed the comeback.
• 90+3' — Late pressure from Guangzhou: A header from a corner drifted just wide as the home side ran out of time.

Tactical story

The match was a contrast in approaches. Guangzhou Dandelion Alpha looked to play quickly through the lines and were at their best when their wide players isolated Dalian’s full-backs. However, their pressing left space behind the midfield, and Dalian Yingbo B grew increasingly comfortable exploiting those gaps on the counter.

Dalian’s second-half adjustment was important. By dropping an extra midfielder into the build-up, the visitors managed to bypass Guangzhou’s first line of pressure and turn defence into attack more smoothly. The winning goal was a perfect example: a turnover in midfield, a direct run, and a finish that punished Guangzhou for committing too many players forward.

Standout performers

Dalian Yingbo B’s midfield anchor was instrumental in the comeback, breaking up play and keeping the ball moving under pressure. The forward who scored the winner also deserved credit for his movement, repeatedly finding pockets between Guangzhou’s centre-backs. For Guangzhou, the right-sided attacker was a constant threat in the first half, while their goalkeeper made two important saves to keep the deficit from growing after the break.

Season impact

The result gives Dalian Yingbo B a valuable away win and strengthens their position in the upper half of the Chinese Football League 2 Reserve standings. For Guangzhou Dandelion Alpha, it is a missed opportunity to build momentum, especially after taking an early lead at home. The home side remain competitive in mid-table, but they will need to manage games better when protecting aadvantage if they are to climb the table in the coming weeks.
