Dalian Kewei 2-2 Hangzhou Linping Wuyue: Spoils Shared in Chinese Football League 2 Battle

Dalian Kewei and Hangzhou Linping Wuyue played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in Chinese Football League 2 on October 12, 2026, with both sides taking a point from a match that swung one way and then the other. Played at 16:00 local time, the contest produced four goals, several momentum shifts, and enough late drama to leave supporters of both clubs with mixed emotions.

For Dalian Kewei, the result extended their resilient home form and kept them competitive in the middle section of the Chinese Football League 2 standings. Hangzhou Linping Wuyue, meanwhile, showed the kind of away-day character that could prove valuable as the season moves deeper into its decisive phase. A draw felt like a fair reflection of a game in which neither team was able to land a knockout blow.

Match Overview

Dalian Kewei began the match with intent, pressing high and looking to use the width of the pitch to stretch Hangzhou Linping Wuyue’s defensive shape. The home side controlled much of the early possession and created the first clear opening when a corner from the right was met with a powerful header.

Hangzhou responded well after falling behind, gradually finding space between the lines and using quick transitions to ask questions of the Dalian back four. The equaliser arrived before half-time and changed the mood of the contest, setting up a second half in which both teams traded attacks rather than settling for a cautious stalemate.

Key Moments

• 18th minute — Dalian Kewei 1-0: Wang Zhen rose highest at the near post to head home from a corner, sparking loud celebrations from the home crowd.
• 34th minute — Dalian Kewei 1-1 Hangzhou Linping Wuyue: Chen Long collected the ball on the edge of the area, shifted it onto his left foot, and curled a low finish beyond the goalkeeper.
• 57th minute — Dalian Kewei 2-1: Li Haoran converted calmly from the penalty spot after Zhang Yufeng was brought down during a driving run into the box.
• 83rd minute — Dalian Kewei 2-2 Hangzhou Linping Wuyue: Xu Kai finished off a swift counterattack, arriving late in the box to guide the ball into the far corner.
• 90+3 minute: Dalian Kewei nearly won it at the death, but Hangzhou goalkeeper Zhou Ming produced a strong save to deny a close-range effort.

Tactical Story

Dalian Kewei lined up with a 4-2-3-1 shape that allowed Zhang Yufeng to drift into pockets of space and link play between midfield and attack. Their best moments came when the full-backs pushed high and the wingers pinned Hangzhou’s defensive line back. However, that aggression also left them exposed to counters, and Hangzhou repeatedly looked dangerous when they won the ball in midfield and attacked quickly.

Hangzhou Linping Wuyue used a compact 4-4-2 structure without the ball, inviting pressure before springing forward through Chen Long and Xu Kai. Their equaliser was a perfect example of that approach: a turnover, a quick vertical pass, and a composed finish. While they conceded twice, their defensive discipline for long stretches kept the match within reach.

Standout Players

Wang Zhen was a constant threat for Dalian Kewei in the air and gave the team an early platform with his header. Li Haoran’s penalty was taken with confidence, and Zhang Yufeng’s energy in midfield drove the hosts forward throughout. At the back, Dalian had to survive several nervous moments, but their goalkeeper made important stops when Hangzhou broke through.

For Hangzhou Linping Wuyue, Chen Long was central to nearly every good attacking move, combining intelligent movement with precise finishing. Xu Kai’s late equaliser underlined his big-game temperament, while goalkeeper Zhou Ming’s late save preserved a hard-earned point on the road.

What the Result Means

The draw leaves both clubs with plenty to play for in the Chinese Football League 2 table. Dalian Kewei will be pleased with the attacking intent but frustrated by their failure to protect a second-half lead at home. Hangzhou Linping Wuyue, by contrast, will take confidence from twice coming from behind and proving they can compete away from home against a strong opponent.

As the season progresses, such points can prove crucial in the race for promotion places and in the battle to avoid the lower reaches of the division. Dalian Kewei and Hangzhou Linping Wuyue both showed enough quality to suggest they will remain competitive, but both will also know that turning draws into wins is the next step if they are to achieve their ambitions.
