Yunnan Yukun U20 1-3 Liaoning Tieren U20 — Liaoning Tieren U20 produced a strong second-half display to claim a 3-1 away victory over Yunnan Yukun U20 in the Chinese Football Association U-21 League on 25 September 2026.

Match Overview

Yunnan Yukun U20 began brightly in front of their home supporters, pressing high and forcing a couple of early set pieces. That early energy was rewarded in the opening exchanges when Yang Zhicheng found space in the box and finished calmly to send the home crowd into good voice.

Liaoning Tieren U20 responded with composure rather than panic. Their midfield began to win the second balls, and an equaliser arrived before half-time through Gao Wenbo, who timed his run perfectly to meet a low cross. From that point on, the visitors looked the more likely side to score again.

Tactical Story

Yunnan Yukun U20 lined up with an energetic 4-3-3 and looked to press Liaoning's build-up, which worked well for the first twenty minutes. However, as the game wore on, their midfield trio began to be stretched, and the visitors' willingness to switch play from side to side created gaps that had not been there early on.

Liaoning Tieren U20 adjusted intelligently after conceding, dropping their wingers slightly deeper to create more room for their full-backs to advance. That change gave them sustained width and forced Yukun's defence to defend a series of crosses. Their third goal was a textbook counter-attack: a turnover in midfield, a quick vertical pass, and a composed finish from Han Xu.

Standout Performers

Gao Wenbo was the outstanding individual on the pitch, scoring twice and repeatedly troubling the home defence with his movement between the lines. Han Xu capped a tidy all-round display with the clinching goal, while Liaoning's central midfield pair controlled the rhythm of the second half.

For Yunnan Yukun U20, Yang Zhicheng took his goal well and never stopped running, and their goalkeeper made several important saves to keep the scoreline respectable. Captain and centre-back Lin Zhiyuan battled hard but was left exposed as the game opened up.

What It Means for the Table

The win strengthens Liaoning Tieren U20's position among the league's more consistent sides and highlights their ability to win away from home — a quality that often decides the shape of a youth league table. For Yunnan Yukun U20, the result is a reminder of how punishing lapses in concentration can be, particularly against teams that counter-attack with such directness.
