Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng FC and Visakha FC produced a 2-2 draw in the Cambodian Premier League on 24 October 2026, a result that underlined just how little separates two of the league's most competitive clubs. Twice the home side edged ahead, and twice Visakha found an answer, in a contest played at pace from start to finish.

Match Overview

Played under the lights at 19:00, the match promised plenty given the recent history between the sides, and it delivered. Svay Rieng looked to impose themselves early with quick switches of play, while Visakha sat compact and looked to strike on the break. The game swung back and forth, with neither team able to establish a lasting stranglehold.

A share of the points feels a fair reflection of a night when both sides created clear opportunities and both showed defensive frailty at key moments. The draw means each team takes something from the fixture, though both will feel they could have claimed more.

Key Moments

• Opening goal: Svay Rieng found the breakthrough with a well-worked move, rewarding their early territorial advantage.
• Immediate response: Visakha struck back to level the score, capitalising on a moment of uncertainty in the home defence.
• Second lead: The home side restored their advantage before the break, showing real composure in front of goal.
• Late equaliser: Visakha found a second equaliser that silenced the home crowd and secured a deserved point.

Tactical Story

Svay Rieng's approach centred on dominating possession and pushing their full-backs high to stretch the Visakha defensive line. It worked for long spells, creating overloads in wide areas and generating crosses into the box. The weakness came in transition, where the home side's advanced positioning left them exposed to quick counter-attacks.

Visakha's game plan was built on resilience and speed on the break. They absorbed pressure, kept their shape, and repeatedly attacked the space behind Svay Rieng's advanced defenders. That discipline in transition is exactly what produced both of their goals, and it is a template that has served them well in the Cambodian Premier League this season.

Standout Performers

The Svay Rieng attack showed why they are among the most feared in the division, combining movement and link-up play that repeatedly carved open the Visakha backline. Their midfield dictated the rhythm of the game for long stretches and delivered the service that produced two goals.

Visakha's forwards were the difference between defeat and a draw, taking their chances with composure at crucial moments. The goalkeeper also made important interventions to keep the deficit manageable, particularly during Svay Rieng's strongest spells of pressure.

Season Impact

Both clubs remain firmly in the conversation at the top end of the Cambodian Premier League standings, and this draw keeps the race tight. Svay Rieng will rue letting a lead slip twice, while Visakha will take heart from their ability to respond under pressure away from home.

The head-to-head record between these two continues to be one of the most entertaining in Cambodian football, and on this evidence the next meeting will be just as fiercely contested.
