Boeung Ket Angkor 1-2 Visakha FC — Visakha FC claimed an impressive away victory in the Cambodian Premier League, coming from behind to beat Boeung Ket Angkor 2-1 in a competitive fixture. The result strengthens Visakha's credentials as a genuine contender in Cambodia's top flight while leaving Boeung Ket to reflect on a home defeat that got away from them.

Match Overview

The Cambodian Premier League has grown considerably in competitiveness in recent seasons, and this match showcased exactly why. Boeung Ket Angkor — one of the country's best-supported and most decorated clubs — started the game on the front foot, using their home crowd to press high and force their opponents into mistakes. Their reward was an opening goal that briefly put them in command.

Visakha, however, are a well-drilled side with quality in wide areas and a willingness to keep the ball through difficult periods. Their patience paid off with an equaliser before half-time, and a second goal after the break turned the match on its head. From there, game management and defensive discipline saw them home.

Key Moments

• Boeung Ket's opener: The hosts took the lead after sustained pressure, finishing off a move that began with a turnover high up the pitch.
• Visakha's equaliser: A swift attacking transition brought the visitors level, with a well-placed finish beyond the goalkeeper's reach.
• The winning goal: Visakha struck the decisive blow in the second half, converting after a period of sustained possession around the Boeung Ket penalty area.
• Late resistance: Boeung Ket pushed numbers forward in search of an equaliser, forcing a string of corners, but the Visakha defence held firm.
• Final whistle: A disciplined final few minutes sealed all three points for the visitors.

Tactical Story

Boeung Ket set up to dominate territory, using their full-backs high and their midfielders advanced in support of the striker. It made for an entertaining, attack-minded start, but it also left space behind the full-backs — and that is precisely where Visakha found their joy. Both of Visakha's goals came from transitions into that vacated space.

Visakha, for their part, were content to let Boeung Ket have the ball for long stretches, sitting in a compact shape and waiting for their moment. Their midfielders shuffled across the pitch in unison, cutting off central passing lanes and forcing attacks into predictable wide deliveries that their centre-backs handled comfortably.

The second half saw Boeung Ket grow increasingly direct, particularly after the concession of the second goal. Visakha responded by dropping their defensive line slightly deeper and slowing the tempo of the game whenever possible.

Standout Performers

• Visakha's wide attacker was the outstanding player, involved in both goals and repeatedly stretching the home defence.
• Visakha's central midfielder dictated the tempo and won the ball back regularly in midfield.
• Boeung Ket's striker worked hard in difficult circumstances, holding the ball up and drawing fouls to relieve pressure.
• Visakha's goalkeeper made two crucial saves in the closing stages to deny Boeung Ket a late equaliser.

Season Impact

Three points on the road against a club of Boeung Ket Angkor's stature are among the most valuable currency in the Cambodian Premier League. The win, and in particular the manner of it — coming from behind, away from home — underlines Visakha FC's ability to compete at the sharp end of the table.

For Boeung Ket, the defeat is a reminder of the cost of leaving gaps behind an attacking full-back pairing. With the season still on track, they will be looking to tighten up defensively and ensure that home fixtures continue to deliver maximum returns.
