Angkor Tiger FC delivered a statement performance in the Cambodian Premier League on Sunday, dismantling Tiffy Army FC 6-0 in a match that was effectively decided long before the final whistle. The hosts were sharper, quicker and more ruthless in front of goal, turning a promising start into a rout that will be remembered as one of the most emphatic scorelines of the campaign.

A blistering opening spell

Angkor Tiger set the tone inside the opening minutes, pressing Tiffy Army high up the pitch and forcing turnovers in dangerous areas. The breakthrough came early, and once the first goal went in the home side's confidence visibly grew. A second followed soon after, and by the midway point of the first half the visitors were already chasing shadows.

Tiffy Army attempted to steady themselves with a deeper defensive line, but the reprieve was temporary. Angkor Tiger's movement between the lines pulled the back four apart repeatedly, and two further goals before the interval left the contest all but over at half-time.

Key moments

• Early opener: High pressing forced a mistake at the back and Angkor Tiger punished it immediately.
• Quickfire double: Two goals in a short window broke any resistance Tiffy Army had hoped to build.
• Half-time cushion: A fourth goal just before the break removed any realistic chance of a comeback.
• Second-half finish: Two more goals after the restart completed the scoring and capped a dominant team display.

Tactical story: pressing, width and relentless tempo

The defining feature of the match was Angkor Tiger's aggressive pressing structure. Their forwards worked in tandem to cut off passing lanes from the goalkeeper, while the midfield pushed up to squeeze the space in which Tiffy Army hoped to build. When possession was won, the transition was rapid — direct passes into the channels and early crosses into the box kept the visiting defence under constant stress.

Tiffy Army never found a way to settle on the ball. Their attempts to play out from the back were repeatedly intercepted, and their few forward forays lacked support. In the second half, with the result secure, Angkor Tiger managed the game sensibly, keeping possession and conserving energy while still adding to the scoreline.

Standout performers

The Angkor Tiger forward line shared the goal-scoring duties, a sign of how many different avenues of attack the team opened up. The midfielders dictated play and won the majority of second balls, while the full-backs provided constant width and quality delivery. The defence, though rarely tested, kept concentration levels high to secure a clean sheet. For Tiffy Army, the goalkeeper made several saves to prevent an even heavier defeat, and the young players who came off the bench at least showed willingness to compete until the end.

Season impact

A 6-0 victory does more than add three points — it sends a message to the rest of the Cambodian Premier League about Angkor Tiger's attacking potential and goal-difference credentials. For Tiffy Army FC, the priority now is to regroup quickly, tighten the defensive structure and restore confidence before the next round of fixtures. Heavy defeats can linger, and the coaching staff will need to ensure the response is measured rather than reactive.
