FC Ebolowa Women and Dja Sports Women Play Out Frustrating Goalless Draw

In a Cameroon Women's League fixture on 1 June 2026, FC Ebolowa Women and Dja Sports Women produced a goalless stalemate, leaving both sides with mixed feelings. The match, played at Ebolowa’s home ground with a 22:00 kick-off, was a tactical battle that saw few clear-cut chances.

Match Overview

From the outset, the encounter was dominated by midfield congestion and defensive organisation. FC Ebolowa, playing on their own pitch, struggled to break down a well-drilled Dja Sports defence. Meanwhile, the visitors rarely threatened the home goal, as both offences failed to find rhythm. The final score read 0-0 – a result that highlighted the strength of the two backlines but left the attacking players frustrated.

Key Moments

• 8' – Ebolowa’s striker fired wide from a promising position inside the box.
• 31' – Dja Sports saw a long-range effort tipped over the bar by the home goalkeeper.
• 57' – The best chance of the match fell to Ebolowa, but the header from a corner was cleared off the line.
• 73' – A Dja Sports counter-attack broke down due to a heavy touch in the final third.
• 89' – Late pressure from Ebolowa resulted in a blocked shot, sealing the draw.

Tactical Story

FC Ebolowa Women lined up in a 4-4-2 formation, attempting to use direct balls to their two forwards, but Dja Sports’ centre-backs, playing in a compact 4-5-1, repeatedly snuffed out danger. The visitors sat deep, inviting pressure and looking to counter, but lacked the final pass. The midfield battle was particularly intense, with neither side establishing dominance. Fatigue led to a slow second half, and both coaches made defensive substitutions to preserve the point.

Standout Players

FC Ebolowa Women: The goalkeeper made two important saves and commanded her area well, earning a clean sheet.

Dja Sports Women: The central defensive pairing was outstanding, making numerous clearances and interceptions to deny any clear scoring opportunity.

League Impact

The goalless draw leaves both teams hovering in the mid-table of the Cameroon Women's League. While a point on the road is often valuable, Dja Sports will feel they could have pushed for a winner. Ebolowa, meanwhile, remain unbeaten at home but will need to find more attacking creativity to climb the standings. With the season still early, matches like this underline the competitive balance in the league.
