FC Ebolowa Women Claim Vital 2-0 Win Over Amazone FAP Women

In a tightly contested Cameroon Women's League fixture on 14 June 2026, FC Ebolowa Women secured a hard-fought 2-0 victory against Amazone FAP Women. The result at Ebolowa's home venue strengthened their position in the top half of the table and handed the visitors their second defeat of the campaign.

Match Summary

Both sides entered the match knowing its significance for league standing. Amazone FAP Women, usually strong in midfield battles, found themselves second-best as FC Ebolowa Women pressed aggressively from the start. The home side opened the scoring midway through the first half with a composed finish after a corner kick was only half-cleared. The second goal came shortly after the hour mark, a counter-attacking move that ended with a curling shot into the far corner.

Key Moments

• Breakthrough goal (28’): A corner from the left delivered into the box caused chaos. The ball fell to an Ebolowa midfielder whose low drive beat the goalkeeper inside the near post.
• FAP response (40’): Amazone FAP Women nearly equalised moments before half-time, but their striker's header sailed just over the crossbar.
• Second goal (63’): A swift break from deep saw Ebolowa's winger race away from the defence and slide the ball across for a teammate to finish first-time.
• Red card incident (78’): Amazone FAP Women had a player controversially sent off after a second yellow card for a tactical foul, ending any hope of a late comeback.

Standout Players

FC Ebolowa Women's entire defensive unit earned praise for limiting Amazone FAP to just two shots on target. The central midfield pairing of Anne Ngo and Carine Mbah controlled the tempo, with Mbah providing the assist for the second goal. For Amazone FAP, left-back Sarah Fotso was the only player to consistently threaten Ebolowa's backline with overlapping runs.

League Implications

The victory moves FC Ebolowa Women into the top four of the Cameroon Women's League, keeping pace with the title contenders. Amazone FAP Women, meanwhile, drop to sixth and must regroup quickly to avoid losing ground in the race for continental qualification. The clean sheet will be especially welcome for Ebolowa, who had conceded in each of their previous three fixtures.

With both teams boasting strong home records, Ebolowa's ability to grind out a result against a direct rival suggests they could be a force in the second half of the season.
