Tactical story

The Bulgarian Cup tie was a clash of styles. Lokomotiv Gorna Oryahovitsa favoured quick, direct attacks and looked dangerous whenever they could win the ball high up the pitch. Septemvri Sofia were more patient, building through midfield and trying to pull the home side out of shape. The equaliser came from exactly that approach, with Septemvri finding space between the lines before finishing calmly. In the end, both teams cancelled each other out for long enough to ensure the scoreline remained level.

Standout performers

Lokomotiv’s goalkeeper produced a strong overall display and made the most important save of the second half. Their central defenders also dealt well with late pressure, while the midfield worked tirelessly to close down space. For Septemvri Sofia, the midfield creator was central to their best moments, linking play and keeping the visitors calm after conceding the opener.

Cup context

The 1-1 scoreline keeps the Bulgarian Cup tie level and underlines how evenly matched the two sides were on the night. Lokomotiv Gorna Oryahovitsa will take encouragement from their attacking spells, while Septemvri Sofia can point to their resilience and composure after falling behind. With neither team able to find a decisive second goal, the cup encounter remains a closely balanced affair.
