Tactical story

Richelle United’s approach was proactive. They pressed in numbers, won second balls in midfield and looked to attack quickly through the channels. That aggression created chances, but it also left space for La Calamine to exploit on the break.

Union La Calamine were at their best when they played through midfield rather than going long. Their equalisers came from sustained spells of pressure, with wide players stretching Richelle’s defence and midfielders arriving late in the box. Defensively, however, they struggled to contain Richelle’s direct running in the final third.

Standout performers

Richelle’s attacking players were the difference. The forward line combined well, stretching La Calamine’s back four and creating space for the midfield to join attacks. The match-winner showed composure in the closing stages, taking the decisive chance when it arrived.

For Union La Calamine, the midfield engine room deserved credit for keeping the team in the game. Their two goals were well constructed, and the response after falling behind twice showed character. In the end, however, defensive lapses proved costly.

What the result means

The 3-2 victory strengthens Richelle United’s position in the BSA D table and gives them momentum after a high-scoring contest. Wins like this can be valuable beyond the points, building belief in the squad’s ability to handle pressure.

Union La Calamine leave with no points but with proof that they can compete going forward. Tightening up at the back will be the priority, because their attacking play already looks capable of causing problems for opponents in the league.
