Londerzeel SK edged KV Diksmuide Oostende 3-2 in a five-goal BSA D thriller on 18 October 2026, with a late winner settling a match that had swung one way and then the other. The home side led early, saw their advantage cancelled out, and then found the decisive goal in the closing stages to claim all three points.

Match overview

Londerzeel started strongly and looked the more assertive team in the opening exchanges. Their pressing forced Diksmuide into mistakes, and the home side deservedly took the lead. For a while, it seemed Londerzeel might pull away, but KV Diksmuide Oostende stayed in the contest and grew more confident as the first half progressed.

The second half was a much more open affair. Diksmuide equalised and then briefly threatened to take control, but Londerzeel responded well. With the match locked at 2-2 in the final minutes, the home side pushed forward once more and found the winning goal that their overall performance just about deserved.

Key moments

• Londerzeel SK took an early lead after a sustained spell of pressure ended with a close-range finish.
• The home side doubled their advantage before half-time, capitalising on a loose ball in the Diksmuide penalty area.
• KV Diksmuide Oostende pulled one back before the break and then equalised in the second half with a well-placed shot from the edge of the box.
• With the game heading towards a draw, Londerzeel scored the decisive third goal late on after a quick attack down the flank.

Tactical story

Londerzeel’s game plan was based on aggressive pressing and quick vertical passes. They wanted to win the ball high up the pitch and attack before Diksmuide could settle into their defensive shape. That approach worked well in the first half, when the home side created several chances from turnovers.

Diksmuide adjusted after the break, dropping a midfielder deeper to help build play and using the wings more effectively. Their equaliser came from exactly that kind of patient build-up, but the visitors were then caught out by Londerzeel’s direct running in the final minutes. The match underlined the importance of game management in BSA D: Londerzeel stayed calm at 2-2 and took their late chance when it arrived.

Standout performers

Londerzeel’s central midfielder was influential throughout, breaking up play and setting the tempo for his side’s attacks. The home centre-forward also deserves credit for leading the line and occupying the Diksmuide defenders. For the visitors, the goalkeeper made a string of saves to keep the score level deep into the second half, while the left winger was a constant threat on the counterattack.

Table impact

The 3-2 victory gives Londerzeel SK an important three points in the BSA D standings and reinforces their home form. KV Diksmuide Oostende leave with nothing despite a battling second-half display, and will be disappointed to have conceded so late. The result adds another dramatic chapter to the early-season table and shows how fine the margins can be in this division.
