Juventude delivered one of their most complete performances of the Brazilian Serie B season, brushing aside Nautico (PE) 4-0 at the Estádio Alfredo Jaconi on October 27, 2026. A first-half brace from Rafael Costa set the tone before Lucas Ferreira and substitute Diego Martins completed a rout that strengthens Juventude’s promotion credentials and leaves Nautico facing serious questions in the relegation battle.

Match overview: Juventude take control early

Juventude started with intent, pressing high and forcing Nautico into repeated turnovers in their own half. The home side’s midfield trio controlled the tempo, switching play quickly and creating overloads on the flanks. Nautico, by contrast, sat deep in a compact block but struggled to retain possession long enough to relieve pressure.

The breakthrough arrived in the 12th minute when Rafael Costa latched onto a low cross from the right and swept the ball home from close range. Juventude doubled their lead in the 38th minute, again through Costa, who timed his run perfectly to meet a through ball before finishing calmly past the goalkeeper. Nautico’s best moment came just before half-time, but a deflected effort clipped the outside of the post.

Key moments that decided the contest

• 12’ – 1-0: Rafael Costa opens the scoring after a sharp move down the right.
• 38’ – 2-0: Costa turns provider-turned-finisher again, converting a one-on-one.
• 57’ – 3-0: Lucas Ferreira curls a shot into the far corner from the edge of the box.
• 78’ – 4-0: Substitute Diego Martins completes the scoring after a goalmouth scramble.

Nautico’s goalkeeper made several saves to keep the score respectable, but the visitors rarely threatened going forward. Juventude’s back line, protected well by the midfield, limited Nautico to long-range efforts and half-chances.

Tactical story: high press and wide overloads

Juventude’s 4-2-3-1 shape was fluid in possession, with the full-backs pushing high and the attacking midfielders drifting into half-spaces. That movement repeatedly pulled Nautico’s defensive line apart. The home side also dominated set pieces, winning several corners and free kicks in dangerous areas.

Nautico attempted to defend in a low 4-4-2 block, but without sustained possession, they were forced to chase the game. Their midfield struggled to close the gaps between the lines, and Juventude’s quick combinations in central areas created a steady stream of chances. The introduction of fresh legs in the second half only increased Juventude’s control.

Standout players

Rafael Costa was the clear difference-maker, with two goals and constant movement that unsettled Nautico’s centre-backs. Lucas Ferreira added quality in midfield and capped his performance with a well-taken goal. Goalkeeper Anderson recorded a clean sheet and dealt comfortably with Nautico’s limited attempts. For Nautico, the goalkeeper was their best performer, making a string of saves to prevent an even heavier defeat.

Serie B table and season impact

The three points lift Juventude into the promotion places, tightening their grip on a return to the top flight. With the Serie B standings beginning to take shape, this result sends a clear message about their intent. For Nautico, the defeat leaves them in the relegation zone and increases the pressure ahead of their next fixtures. The visitors must find a way to convert defensive resilience into points quickly, or their season could spiral.
