Auto Esporte Clube PB produced a dominant performance to defeat Serrano PB 3-0 in the Campeonato Paraibano Segunda Divisão (BRA PB2) on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. The match, which kicked off at 07:15 local time, was decided by a ruthless first-half display and a composed second-half penalty, giving the home side a crucial three points in their push for promotion.

Match Overview

Played at the Estádio José Américo de Almeida Filho in João Pessoa, Auto Esporte Clube PB set the tone from the opening whistle. The home side pressed high, moved the ball quickly through midfield, and never allowed Serrano PB to settle into any rhythm. By the time the half-time whistle blew, the hosts had already built a two-goal cushion, and the visitors rarely looked capable of mounting a comeback.

Serrano PB, who traveled from Campina Grande, struggled to keep possession and were repeatedly undone by Auto Esporte’s sharp transitions. A second-half red card further complicated their afternoon, and a late penalty sealed a comprehensive victory for the hosts.

Key Moments

• 12’ – Auto Esporte 1-0: A quick exchange on the right flank ended with a low cross into the box, and striker Joãozinho swept the ball home from close range to give the home side an early lead.
• 34’ – Auto Esporte 2-0: Rafael doubled the advantage with a curling effort from the edge of the area after Serrano failed to clear a corner. The ball nestled into the bottom corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.
• 60’ – Serrano down to ten men: A reckless challenge in midfield earned Serrano’s captain a second yellow card, reducing the visitors to ten men and effectively ending their hopes of a fightback.
• 78’ – Auto Esporte 3-0: Léo converted a penalty after a handball inside the box, coolly sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to complete the scoring.

Tactical Story

Auto Esporte Clube PB lined up in a fluid 4-3-3 that suffocated Serrano’s build-up play. The midfield trio pressed aggressively, forcing turnovers in dangerous areas and launching quick counter-attacks. The full-backs pushed high, stretching Serrano’s defense and creating overloads on the wings. That dominance was reflected in the stats: the hosts enjoyed 62% possession and registered 15 shots, seven of which were on target.

Serrano PB, by contrast, sat deep in a 4-4-2 but struggled to maintain any sustained pressure. Their defensive line was often too deep, allowing Auto Esporte to camp in their half. The sending-off only made matters worse, and the visitors managed just four attempts on goal all match, none of which truly tested the home goalkeeper.

Standout Performers

Joãozinho was a constant menace up front, opening the scoring and linking play intelligently. Rafael controlled the tempo in midfield and capped his display with a fine goal. At the back, goalkeeper Anderson kept a clean sheet with a series of routine but confident saves, while captain Léo marshaled the defense and converted the late penalty.

For Serrano, there were few positives. Their goalkeeper made several stops to prevent a heavier defeat, but the outfield players were second-best throughout. The early kickoff appeared to affect their sharpness, and the red card ended any lingering resistance.

Season Impact

The win lifts Auto Esporte Clube PB into a stronger position in the Campeonato Paraibano Segunda Divisão table, keeping them firmly in the race for promotion. With three points and a healthy goal difference, they will approach their next fixture with growing confidence. Serrano PB, meanwhile, remain near the bottom of the standings and will need a rapid turnaround to avoid being dragged into a relegation battle.
