Auto Esporte Clube PB and Cruzeiro PB share spoils in 1-1 BRA PB2 draw

Auto Esporte Clube PB and Cruzeiro PB played out an entertaining 1-1 draw in BRA PB2 on 23 October 2026, with both sides trading goals in a second half that was far more open than the early stages suggested. The hosts enjoyed the better of the first period, but Cruzeiro PB responded well after the interval and earned a point that could prove important in the wider league picture.

Match overview

Auto Esporte Clube PB started with energy and pressed high, looking to force mistakes in the Cruzeiro PB half. Their best early chances came from wide areas, with crosses causing uncertainty in the visiting penalty area. Cruzeiro PB gradually settled, keeping more of the ball in midfield and trying to slow the tempo of the game.

The breakthrough arrived after the break when Auto Esporte’s pressure finally told. A low delivery from the right was turned in at the near post, giving the home side a deserved lead and lifting the crowd. Cruzeiro PB responded with substitutions and a more direct approach, pushing more bodies forward in search of an equaliser. Their persistence paid off when a set-piece was headed back across goal and converted from close range, levelling the score at 1-1.

Key moments

• Auto Esporte Clube PB created the first meaningful chance of the match with a header from a right-sided cross that went just over the bar.

• Auto Esporte took the lead in the second half through a close-range finish following a dangerous cross from the right.
• Cruzeiro PB equalised after a period of sustained pressure, converting from a set-piece scramble inside the six-yard box.
• Both goalkeepers were called into action late on, with Auto Esporte’s goalkeeper denying a powerful strike and Cruzeiro’s goalkeeper claiming a dangerous cross under pressure.

Tactical story

Auto Esporte Clube PB’s game plan was built on intensity and quick transitions. They pressed Cruzeiro PB’s defenders when they tried to play out from the back and looked to attack the flanks whenever possible. That approach worked well for long spells, particularly in the first half, but it also left space behind the full-backs when moves broke down.

Cruzeiro PB initially struggled to cope with the home side’s pressing, but they adjusted by playing more directly and committing more players into the box during the second half. The equaliser came from exactly that shift in approach: more crosses, more second balls and more pressure around the penalty spot. Auto Esporte pushed for a winner late on, but Cruzeiro PB defended with enough composure to see out the draw.

Standout players

Auto Esporte Clube PB’s midfielder was the driving force behind their best moments, winning possession and linking play between the lines. The right-sided attacker also caused problems with direct running and deliveries into the box. For Cruzeiro PB, the substitute who helped change the tempo made a clear impact, while the goalkeeper produced two important saves to keep the visitors in the game before the equaliser.

Table and season impact

A point apiece keeps both teams moving in a competitive BRA PB2 campaign, though the result will feel different for each side. Auto Esporte Clube PB may view it as two points dropped after leading at home, while Cruzeiro PB will take encouragement from their response and the resilience shown after falling behind. With the league table remaining tight, such away points can prove valuable by the end of the season.
