The second half followed a similar pattern. Tactical Story

Corinthians Paulista Youth used a 4-3-3 system and tried to dominate through central combinations. Portuguesa Santista, meanwhile, defended in a compact 4-4-2 block and looked to spring forward through their energetic wingers.

The game became a tactical battle between Corinthians’ possession and Portuguesa Santista’s resilience. Corinthians had more shots, but Portuguesa Santista had the clearest counter-attacking opportunities. In the end, both coaches could take positives from the defensive organisation on display.

Standout Players

Portuguesa Santista’s goalkeeper was the man of the match, making at least three crucial saves. His handling and positioning kept his team level when Corinthians applied pressure. Defender João Martins also impressed with his reading of the game and several important interceptions.

For Corinthians, midfielder Gabriel Souza was the main creative force, linking play and driving forward from deep. Defender Vitor Hugo dealt well with counter-attacks and won several aerial duels. However, the team lacked a final spark in the attacking third.

Season Impact

Both teams take a point from the draw. For Portuguesa Santista Youth, the result is a confidence boost against one of the strongest academies in the Campeonato Paulista Youth. For Corinthians Paulista Youth, it is a reminder that dominance without goals is not enough in a competitive youth league.

The draw keeps both sides in the mix as the season develops. Corinthians will look to convert possession into goals in their next outing, while Portuguesa Santista will aim to build on a disciplined defensive performance.
