Novo Horizonte 0-9 Real SC: Visitors Run Riot in Campeonato Gaucho 2

Real SC produced a breathtaking attacking display to thrash Novo Horizonte 9-0 in the Campeonato Gaucho 2 on 8 October 2026. The away side scored early, never eased off, and turned the fixture into a statement victory that will be remembered as one of the most one-sided results of the state season.

From the 02:15 kickoff, Real SC were sharper in every department. They pressed high, moved the ball quickly, and punished Novo Horizonte's defensive errors with ruthless efficiency. By half-time the contest was effectively over, and the second half became a matter of how many more goals the visitors would add.

Match Overview

Real SC opened the scoring inside the first five minutes and doubled their lead before the 20-minute mark. Novo Horizonte tried to steady themselves, but the third and fourth goals arrived before the break as the visitors overwhelmed their hosts with speed and precise finishing. The 4-0 half-time lead was no more than Real SC deserved.

The second half brought no respite. Real SC added a fifth shortly after the restart, then scored at regular intervals as Novo Horizonte's resistance faded. The visitors rotated their attack without losing intensity, and the final whistle confirmed a 9-0 scoreline that flattered no one.

Key Moments

• 5' — 0-1: Real SC press high and score from the first clear chance.
• 18' — 0-2: A quick move down the left ends with a finish at the far post.
• 31' — 0-3: Novo Horizonte lose possession in midfield and are punished immediately.
• 44' — 0-4: A set piece is headed in as the first half ends in a blur.
• 52' — 0-5: Real SC score from a rebound after a fine save.

Tactical Story

Real SC used a 4-3-3 that became a 4-2-3-1 out of possession, suffocating Novo Horizonte's attempts to play out from the back. Their midfield won almost every second ball, and the front three attacked the space behind the full-backs relentlessly. Novo Horizonte started in a 4-4-2 but were pulled apart, leaving their centre-backs exposed. Once the first goal went in, the home side's shape dissolved, and Real SC's confidence surged.

Standout Players

Real SC's No. 9 was the headline act, scoring three goals and leading the line with intelligent movement. The left winger added two goals and an assist, while the central midfielders controlled the tempo and repeatedly turned defence into attack. For Novo Horizonte, the goalkeeper made several saves to prevent an even heavier defeat, but few others emerged with credit.

What the Result Means

The three points and the huge goal-difference swing strengthen Real SC's position in the Campeonato Gaucho 2 table. In a league where promotion and seeding can hinge on fine margins, a 9-0 win is a powerful boost. For Novo Horizonte, the focus must turn to damage limitation and recovery; the result leaves them with a tough task to rebuild confidence. Real SC, meanwhile, will hope this performance signals a sustained push for promotion to the top tier of Rio Grande do Sul football.
