Raja Club Athletic 1-0 Renaissance Zemamra — Raja Club Athletic edged Renaissance Zemamra 1-0 in the Botola Pro, grinding out a hard-fought victory in Casablanca that keeps the Green Eagles firmly in the hunt at the top end of Morocco's elite division.

Match Overview

Raja controlled the rhythm of the match from the opening minutes, dominating possession and forcing Renaissance Zemamra into a defensive posture. The visitors defended in numbers, dropping both wingers deep to protect their full-backs and leaving a single forward isolated in attack.

That resistance lasted until Raja found the decisive goal, and thereafter the match became a test of concentration. Zemamra pushed forward in search of an equaliser in the final twenty minutes, but Raja's defensive organisation and game management saw the lead through to full time.

Key Moments

• Raja's early pressure produced a series of corners and a shot against the woodwork that set the tone for the first half.
• The opening goal arrived from a flowing attacking move, finished with a composed strike inside the penalty area.
• Renaissance Zemamra's best chance came from a set piece, headed narrowly over the crossbar.
• Late substitutions for Raja helped run down the clock and break up Zemamra's momentum.

Tactical Story

Raja's approach relied on patient build-up and switching play quickly from side to side, searching for the moment when Zemamra's defensive line shifted out of shape. That patience was rewarded, and it also protected the hosts from being caught on the counter — a risk whenever a favourite commits extra players forward.

Renaissance Zemamra, meanwhile, showed why they are a competitive outfit away from home. Their block was well drilled, their tackling aggressive, and their transition moments carried genuine threat. The difference between the sides was simply the quality of the finish in the decisive moment.

Standout Players

Raja's goalscorer deservedly took the headlines, but the performance of their central midfielders was just as important, controlling tempo and winning second balls throughout. The goalkeeper was alert when called upon late on, claiming crosses under pressure. For Zemamra, the centre-backs were outstanding for long stretches, and their hard-running forward was a constant outlet on the counter.

Season Impact

Three points at home is the foundation of any Botola Pro title challenge, and Raja Club Athletic know that winning these tighter fixtures is what separates contenders from the rest. Renaissance Zemamra leave Casablanca without a reward but with a performance to build on, particularly defensively. With the Moroccan top flight continuing to be one of the most closely contested leagues in Africa, results like this one will be scrutinised carefully when the final table takes shape.
