Tactical Story

CODM Meknes’ 4-2-3-1 formation allowed them to control central areas, with Benali dropping deep to link play and the wingers providing width. Their pressing was well coordinated, forcing Amal Tiznit into several misplaced passes in the first half. When Tiznit equalised, the game became more open, but CODM’s midfield held their nerve and continued to probe.

Amal Tiznit’s approach relied on quick transitions and crosses into the box. They found some joy down the flanks but lacked precision in the final delivery. Defensively, they were solid for long spells but switched off at crucial moments, particularly for the winner, when El Ouazzani was given too much space on the edge of the box.

Standout Players

Hamza Benali was the engine of CODM’s performance, scoring the opener and dictating the tempo. Anas El Ouazzani provided the decisive moment with a superb late goal. For Amal Tiznit, Youssef El Idrissi took his chance well and was a constant threat on the counter, while their goalkeeper made several fine saves to keep the score level for as long as possible.

Season Impact

The three points are a significant boost for CODM Meknes in the Botola Pro standings, giving them momentum heading into their next fixtures. Amal Tiznit remain in need of consistency, particularly at home, where they have now let valuable points slip. With the Moroccan top flight as competitive as ever, late winners like El Ouazzani’s can prove decisive in the race for continental places and survival alike.
