HSK Zrinjski Mostar secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Radnik Bijeljina in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Premier League on 24 October 2026. A single second-half goal was enough to separate the sides at the Stadion pod Bijelim Brijegom, where Zrinjski’s patience and control eventually broke down a stubborn Radnik defence.

Match overview

Zrinjski dominated the ball from the opening stages, pushing Radnik deep and forcing the visitors to defend in numbers. The Mostar side moved the ball from side to side, looking for gaps between the lines and opportunities to deliver crosses into the box. Radnik, meanwhile, sat in a compact block and tried to limit space in central areas, relying on clearances and occasional counter-attacks.

The breakthrough came after the interval. Zrinjski increased the tempo, won more second balls around the penalty area and finally found the decisive moment with a well-taken finish. Radnik responded by pushing a few players forward, but they struggled to create clear chances against a Zrinjski back line that remained alert until the final whistle.

Key moments

• First-half control: Zrinjski enjoyed the majority of possession but found Radnik’s goalkeeper and defence difficult to break down.
• Second-half breakthrough: The hosts scored the only goal of the game after sustained pressure around the Radnik penalty area.
• Radnik’s response: The visitors tried to push forward for an equaliser, but Zrinjski managed the space well.
• Late defending: Zrinjski defended a series of late balls into the box to protect all three points.

Tactical story

Zrinjski’s game was built on territorial dominance and patience. Their full-backs pushed high to create width, while the midfielders looked to recycle possession quickly and keep Radnik pinned back. The hosts were careful not to overcommit too early, understanding that one misplaced pass could give Radnik a rare counter-attacking opportunity.

Radnik’s plan was defensive discipline. They kept their lines close together, defended crosses well for long periods and tried to slow the game down. In the end, however, the sheer volume of Zrinjski’s attacks told. The decisive goal came from a moment when the visitors failed to clear their lines properly, and Zrinjski punished them with a finish from inside the box.

Standout performers

The match-winner deserves the headlines for producing the coolest moment of the contest, but Zrinjski’s midfield control was equally important. Their central midfielder kept the ball moving and ensured the hosts did not become frustrated during the long spells of possession. Radnik’s goalkeeper also produced several saves to keep the scoreline close, while their centre-backs battled hard against sustained pressure.

Season impact

Three points keep Zrinjski firmly in the title conversation and reinforce their reputation as one of the strongest sides in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Premier League. For Radnik Bijeljina, the defeat is a reminder of how difficult it is to contain the league’s leading teams for a full 90 minutes. Radnik will take some encouragement from their defensive organisation, but they will need more attacking threat in future matches to climb away from the lower reaches of the table.
