NK Tomislav held favourites Sarajevo to a 1-1 draw in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup on 27 October 2026, delivering a disciplined and resilient cup performance. Sarajevo enjoyed more of the ball, but Tomislav stayed compact, defended their box well and found an equaliser to keep the tie level.

Match overview

Sarajevo began with the confidence expected of the stronger side, moving the ball patiently and looking to pull Tomislav out of shape. The breakthrough eventually arrived after a period of pressure, but NK Tomislav refused to fold. The hosts responded with greater urgency before the break and carried that momentum into the second half, finding a deserved equaliser after the restart.

Key moments

• First-half breakthrough: Sarajevo took the lead through Amir Hadžić after building pressure around the Tomislav penalty area.
• Tomislav response: The hosts grew into the game and forced several corners before the interval.
• Equaliser: Marko Jurić levelled for NK Tomislav with a well-taken finish after a quick attacking move.
• Late pressure: Sarajevo pushed for a winner, but Tomislav's defence held firm in the closing minutes.

Tactical story

NK Tomislav set up to deny central space and force Sarajevo into wide areas. That plan worked for long spells, even if Sarajevo's technical quality created a few clear openings. Tomislav's equaliser came from their willingness to counter quickly rather than simply clear their lines. Sarajevo dominated possession but lacked the final pass in the last third, allowing the hosts to stay in the tie.

Standout performers

Marko Jurić was the hero for NK Tomislav, not only for his goal but also for his work rate in linking play. The goalkeeper made two important saves to keep the deficit at one before the equaliser. For Sarajevo, Amir Hadžić was the most creative outlet, while the midfield worked hard to recover possession and sustain attacks.

Cup impact

The 1-1 draw gives NK Tomislav real encouragement from the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup clash, while Sarajevo will be frustrated at failing to turn control into a winning scoreline. The tie remains open, and Tomislav's defensive discipline suggests the return fixture will not be straightforward for the more established side.
