Famos Vojkovici 1-0 Leotar — Famos Vojkovici advanced in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup after a narrow 1-0 victory over Leotar on 28 October 2026. A second-half goal settled a tight, physical cup tie at Stadion Famos, where both sides struggled to create clear chances for long spells.

The result sends Famos into the next round and leaves Leotar frustrated after a disciplined away performance that lacked only a cutting edge in the final third. Cup football often rewards patience and set-piece quality, and this match followed that pattern: chances were rare, space was limited, and one decisive moment proved enough.

Match overview

Leotar started with a compact mid-block, denying Famos space between the lines and forcing the home side to build through wide areas. Famos saw more of the ball in the opening half hour but found it difficult to break down a well-organised defensive unit. Crosses were cleared, second balls were contested fiercely, and the first half passed without a clear-cut chance.

After the break, Famos increased the tempo. Their midfield pushed higher, the full-backs advanced, and Leotar were forced deeper. The breakthrough came in the 67th minute when Dragan Jovanović reacted quickest to a loose ball inside the penalty area and fired low into the corner.

Key moments

• 24th minute: Famos’ first meaningful effort is blocked after a short corner routine.
• 41st minute: Leotar threaten on the break, but the final shot is comfortably saved.
• 67th minute: Dragan Jovanović scores the only goal, finishing from close range after a scramble.
• 79th minute: Leotar head over from a free-kick as they push for an equaliser.
• 90th minute: Famos goalkeeper makes a late save to preserve the clean sheet.

Leotar responded positively after conceding. They brought more bodies forward and began to deliver crosses into the box, but Famos defended with discipline. The home side dropped their line slightly, protected the central areas, and relied on quick counter-attacks to relieve pressure. A late save from the Famos goalkeeper capped a strong defensive performance.

Tactical story

Famos’ victory was built on control rather than flair. Their midfield kept the ball moving, avoided unnecessary risks in central areas, and waited for Leotar to tire. The home side’s patience was rewarded when the game opened up in the second half. By pushing their full-backs higher, Famos created enough width to stretch Leotar’s back line and generate the chance that decided the tie.

Leotar’s game plan was clear: stay compact, frustrate the home side, and threaten from set pieces and counter-attacks. For long periods it worked. Their centre-backs dealt well with aerial balls, and their midfield protected the defence effectively. The difference came in the decisive moment inside the box, where Famos were sharper to the loose ball.

Standout players

• Dragan Jovanović (Famos Vojkovici): The match-winner, showing alertness and composure in a crowded penalty area.
• Famos goalkeeper: Made important late saves and commanded his box well under pressure.
• Leotar’s central defenders: Defended bravely for much of the match and limited Famos’ clear chances.
• Leotar’s midfield: Worked tirelessly to close gaps and keep the away side competitive until the end.

What the result means

For Famos Vojkovici, the win is a confidence boost and a place in the next round of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup. Cup runs can build momentum, and the clean sheet will be especially pleasing for a side that had to defend under pressure in the closing stages. For Leotar, the defeat is a narrow one, but the margins in knockout football are often small. Their performance showed enough organisation and resilience to suggest they will be competitive in league fixtures ahead.

The match also underlined the value of game management in cup ties: Famos did not panic during a frustrating first half, took their chance when it arrived, and then defended their lead with maturity.
