Wilstermann Cooperativa secured a hard-fought 2-1 home win over CD Mineros Potosi in the Bolivian Reserve Cup on 28 September 2026, in a match that swung back and forth before the hosts finally edged it. With three goals and plenty of competitive intensity, it was a fixture that delivered on the promise of reserve-level football at its best.

Match Overview

Games between Wilstermann Cooperativa and CD Mineros Potosi carry a certain edge, and this one followed that script. The hosts came out with purpose, using their home advantage to press forward, but Mineros Potosi proved stubborn opposition, matching them for long periods and pulling themselves back into the contest when it looked as though the initiative might slip away.

Ultimately, home advantage told, but only just. The 2-1 scoreline captures the balance of the match accurately: a competitive, evenly matched encounter decided by the hosts' ability to find one more goal than their opponents.

Key Moments

• Home opener: Wilstermann Cooperativa struck first, capitalising on early pressure to take control of the scoreboard.
• Mineros hit back: CD Mineros Potosi responded strongly, equalising and turning the match back into a genuine contest.
• The winner: The decisive goal arrived for the hosts, restoring their lead and forcing the visitors to chase the game once more.
• Final stand: Wilstermann defended their advantage in the closing minutes as Mineros pushed for a late leveller.

Tactical Story

The hosts' approach was built on proactive, forward-thinking football. They looked to win the ball high, move it quickly into wide areas and get numbers into the box. That aggressive style produced the goals, though it also left them exposed at times, and Mineros Potosi were intelligent enough to exploit those gaps when they appeared.

Mineros Potosi's equaliser came from their willingness to commit players forward and test the home defence with direct running. Their problem was sustaining that pressure. Once Wilstermann regained the lead, the visitors had to open up further, and the home side managed the closing stages with enough composure to keep them at bay.

Standout Performers

Wilstermann Cooperativa's forward players were central to the result, converting pressure into goals at the key moments of the match. Their midfield also deserves praise for maintaining the energy levels required to press for the full 90 minutes. For CD Mineros Potosi, the equalising goal and the response that followed showed genuine character, and their attacking players caused real problems throughout.

Table and Season Impact

A home win in the Bolivian Reserve Cup keeps Wilstermann Cooperativa in a positive frame of mind. Reserve competitions are judged partly on results and partly on the pipeline of talent they produce, and a battling 2-1 victory offers evidence of both competitive strength and squad depth.

CD Mineros Potosi leave with a narrow defeat but plenty to build on. Their reaction after conceding shows a group that does not fold easily, and in a league where young players are learning to handle pressure, that quality is worth more than a single result.

What's Next

Both sides now look ahead to their next Reserve Cup fixtures. Wilstermann will aim to make home advantage count again and string together a run of results, while Mineros Potosi will target the kind of consistent performance that turns narrow defeats into victories.
