The Strongest earned a 2-1 home win over Always Ready in the Bolivian Primera División, using their high-altitude advantage and first-half control to claim a important three points in the title race. Jaime Arrascaita and Enrique Triverio scored either side of half-time, while Always Ready’s late response came too late to deny the hosts.

Match overview

The Strongest began brightly at the Estadio Hernando Siles and took the lead in the 27th minute when Arrascaita arrived late in the box to convert a low cross. The hosts pressed high and forced Always Ready into several turnovers, but the visitors survived the rest of the first half without conceding again.

The second goal arrived in the 66th minute through Triverio, who held his position well before finishing from close range. Always Ready improved after that and pulled one back in the 84th minute through Darlin Rodríguez, setting up a tense finale. The Strongest, however, managed the closing minutes with experience and kept the visitors at arm’s length.

• 42nd minute: Always Ready’s best chance of the first half is headed over from a corner.
• 66th minute: Enrique Triverio doubles The Strongest’s lead with a poacher’s finish inside the six-yard box.

Tactical story

The Strongest used their familiar high line and aggressive pressing to pin Always Ready deep in their own half. Their midfield won most of the second balls, and the wide players constantly stretched the visitors’ back four. The altitude also played a role, as Always Ready tired in the final 20 minutes and struggled to close space.

Always Ready were more dangerous after their goal, but the timing of the strike left them with little room for a full comeback. Their best moments came from set pieces and crosses into the box, though The Strongest’s central defenders dealt with the aerial threat well in the closing stages.

Standout players

Arrascaita was the standout performer, combining energy with quality in the final third. Triverio’s movement and finishing gave The Strongest a reliable focal point, while the home midfield controlled the game for long stretches. Rodríguez was Always Ready’s brightest spark and took his goal well.

Table and season impact

The victory keeps The Strongest firmly in the Bolivian title conversation and reinforces their home record. Always Ready remain a threat, but dropping points away to a direct rival could prove costly in the standings. The result also adds another chapter to a competitive head-to-head between two clubs with serious ambitions at the top of the Primera División.
