Sutjeska Foca secured a 2-1 home win over Potkozarje in the BIH PL-RS on October 17, 2026, building a two-goal advantage before surviving a late fightback. The victory gave Sutjeska three important points and highlighted their ability to combine early attacking ambition with disciplined defending under pressure.

Match overview

Sutjeska Foca began the match on the front foot, pressing Potkozarje and forcing the visitors into mistakes in their own half. The home side’s early dominance was rewarded when they took the lead, and they doubled the advantage before Potkozarje could properly settle. At that stage, Sutjeska looked in control and capable of adding to their tally.

Potkozarje responded after the break with a more aggressive approach, pushing more players forward and finding a goal that changed the complexion of the game. The visitors then pressed for an equaliser, but Sutjeska’s defence held firm through a tense final period. The home side managed the clock well and limited Potkozarje to half-chances as the match drew to a close.

Key moments

• Early opener: Sutjeska took the lead after a bright start, converting pressure into a goal with a well-placed finish.
• Two-goal cushion: The home side doubled their advantage before half-time, punishing Potkozarje for failing to clear a dangerous attacking move.
• Potkozarje’s lifeline: The visitors pulled one back after the interval, giving themselves hope and forcing Sutjeska onto the back foot.
• Late defending: Sutjeska survived a spell of late pressure, with their goalkeeper and centre-backs dealing with crosses and set pieces to protect the win.

Tactical story

Sutjeska Foca’s plan was to start quickly and deny Potkozarje time on the ball. The home side pressed in coordinated spells and attacked the spaces behind the visitors’ full-backs. That approach produced two goals and forced Potkozarje to chase the game from an early stage. However, Sutjeska’s intensity dropped slightly after taking the two-goal lead, allowing the visitors back into the contest.

Potkozarje improved after the break by playing more directly and committing extra bodies forward. Their goal came from sustained pressure, and for a period they looked capable of finding an equaliser. Sutjeska responded by tightening their defensive shape and slowing the tempo, a game-management decision that proved crucial in the final minutes.

Standout performers

Sutjeska’s attacking players set the tone with their movement and pressing in the first half, while the goalkeeper produced a key save when Potkozarje were pushing for a leveller. The home defence also deserves credit for surviving a difficult late spell. For Potkozarje, the response after half-time was encouraging, but the early concessions left them with too much to do.

What the result means

The win strengthens Sutjeska Foca’s position in the BIH PL-RS standings and rewards their strong start to the match. Potkozarje will take some encouragement from their second-half fightback, but the defeat shows how costly a slow opening can be in a competitive league. Sutjeska’s ability to hold on under pressure was the defining feature of a hard-earned three points.
