FK Omarska Edge Kozara Gradiska in Tight BIH PL-RS Battle

FK Omarska claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over FK Kozara Gradiska in the BIH PL-RS on Sunday, 18 October 2026, with a second-half goal settling a tense and physical contest. The match was short on clear chances but high on commitment, and Omarska’s ability to take one of their few real opportunities proved decisive.

Kozara Gradiska started brightly and looked the more composed side in possession during the opening 20 minutes. They moved the ball well through midfield and won several set-pieces in promising areas, but Omarska’s defence held firm and gradually grew into the game.

Match Overview

The first half was a battle for territory. Omarska sat compact, denied space behind their back line and looked to spring forward on the counter. Kozara’s best chance came in the 22nd minute when a header from a corner clipped the top of the crossbar. Omarska responded with a few half-chances of their own, but the teams went into the break level.

The decisive moment arrived in the 68th minute. Omarska won a corner on the left, and after a short scramble in the box, Nemanja Vuković forced the ball over the line from close range. Kozara pushed for an equaliser in the final 20 minutes, but Omarska goalkeeper Dragan Simić made two important saves, including a strong stop in the 88th minute.

Key Moments

• 22nd minute: Kozara Gradiska head against the crossbar from a corner.
• 41st minute: Omarska’s first shot on target is comfortably saved after a quick counter.
• 68th minute: Nemanja Vuković scores from a goalmouth scramble following a corner.
• 81st minute: Kozara force a smart low save from Dragan Simić.
• 88th minute: Simić again denies Kozara with a strong stop at his near post.

Tactical Story

Omarska’s approach was built on defensive discipline and set-piece threat. They conceded possession at times but limited Kozara to speculative efforts from outside the box. The midfield trio worked hard to close the central lanes, and the back line defended crosses well for long periods.

Kozara will feel they deserved more from the game, but their final ball lacked precision. They dominated the ball in the second half without creating enough clear openings, and Omarska’s willingness to defend deep ultimately paid off. The home side’s game management in the closing stages was excellent.

Standout Performers

Vuković will take the headlines for the winning goal, but Simić’s late saves were equally important. Omarska’s central defenders also produced a strong collective display, heading away several dangerous deliveries. For Kozara, the midfield duo kept the team moving forward, but the attacking line struggled to find space against a crowded defence.

Season Impact

The win gives FK Omarska three valuable points and a morale boost in the BIH PL-RS table. For FK Kozara Gradiska, the defeat is a frustrating one, especially after a promising start. The result underlines how important set-pieces and goalkeeping moments can be in a tightly contested regional league, where fine margins often decide the outcome.
