FK Kozara Gradiška and Rudar Prijedor fought out a hard-earned 2-2 draw in the First League of Republika Srpska on 11 October 2026, a result that left both teams with mixed feelings after a night of swings in momentum at Gradski stadion Gradiška.

Match overview

Kozara made the brighter start and took the lead in the 22nd minute when Nemanja Trifković fired home from the edge of the area after a neat lay-off. Rudar Prijedor responded with the kind of direct football that has long been their trademark, equalising in the 38th minute through Marko Babić, who converted from close range after a deep cross caused confusion in the home defence.

The second half saw Kozara regain control and move ahead again on 71 minutes. Stefan Vasić arrived late in the box to turn in a low centre, sparking loud celebrations from the home crowd. But Rudar refused to accept defeat, and in the 84th minute Dario Šakić curled a free-kick beyond the goalkeeper to rescue a point.

Key moments

• 22' – FK Kozara Gradiška 1-0: Nemanja Trifković struck from the edge of the box after a patient build-up.
• 38' – Rudar Prijedor 1-1: Marko Babić tapped in following a deep cross and a defensive mix-up.
• 71' – FK Kozara Gradiška 2-1: Stefan Vasić converted a low delivery at the back post.
• 84' – Rudar Prijedor 2-2: Dario Šakić bent a free-kick around the wall and into the far corner.

Tactical story

Kozara used a 4-3-3 system and tried to dominate possession through midfield rotations. Their best moments came when the wide forwards pinned Rudar’s full-backs deep, allowing the central midfielders to push higher. However, they struggled to defend crosses and set pieces, which proved costly.

Rudar Prijedor sat deeper for long spells but carried a constant threat on the break. Their 4-4-2 block was difficult to break down, and they were happy to play direct when needed. The late free-kick equaliser was a fitting reward for their persistence and willingness to keep attacking until the final whistle.

Standout players

Trifković and Vasić were the main attacking outlets for Kozara, combining well and asking questions of the Rudar back line throughout. Babić’s movement in the box gave Rudar a focal point, while Šakić’s set-piece quality proved decisive. Both goalkeepers also made important interventions in a game that could easily have produced more goals.

What the draw means for the table

In the context of the First League of Republika Srpska standings, the point keeps both sides in the chasing pack. Kozara will be frustrated to have surrendered a late lead on home soil, especially with promotion hopefuls eager to string wins together. Rudar, meanwhile, will take encouragement from a battling away performance and a result that maintains their momentum in the upper half of the table.
