Drina Zvornik Claim Narrow 1-0 Win Over Rudar Prijedor

Drina Zvornik defeated Rudar Prijedor 1-0 on September 23, 2026, in the BIH PL-RS, thanks to a single goal that separated two well-matched sides. The victory gave Drina Zvornik a valuable three points on home soil and left Rudar Prijedor to reflect on a game of fine margins.

Drina started brightly and looked to impose themselves early. They pressed Rudar’s defenders, won a couple of corners, and tested the goalkeeper with a firm strike from the edge of the box. Rudar, meanwhile, were content to sit deeper and look for opportunities on the counter.

Match Overview

The first half was cagey. Both teams defended well, and clear chances were limited. Drina’s midfield worked hard to win the ball back, while Rudar’s back line stood firm under pressure. The best moment before the break came from a Drina free kick, but the header went wide.

After the interval, Drina increased the intensity. Their wide players pushed higher, and the home side began to create sustained pressure. The breakthrough arrived midway through the second half, when a well-worked move ended with a low finish into the bottom corner to make it 1-0.

Key Moments

• First-half chances: Drina forced a save from a long-range shot, while Rudar cleared a dangerous cross.
• Decisive goal: Drina Zvornik scored the only goal of the game with a composed finish after a quick attacking move.
• Rudar’s late push: Rudar Prijedor threw bodies forward in the final minutes, but Drina’s defence held firm.

Tactical Story

Drina Zvornik’s game plan was built on patience and pressure. They kept their shape, moved the ball quickly in midfield, and waited for Rudar to make a mistake. The goal came from exactly that kind of sequence: a turnover, a quick pass, and a clinical finish.

Rudar Prijedor responded by changing their approach, pushing their full-backs forward and sending more crosses into the box. Drina dropped deeper to protect the lead, relying on their centre-backs to head clear and their goalkeeper to manage the space behind. It was not always comfortable, but it was effective.

Standout Players

Drina’s goalscorer deserved credit for a composed finish under pressure, while their defensive midfielder covered plenty of ground and broke up Rudar’s attacks. The goalkeeper also made a late save to secure the clean sheet. For Rudar, the left winger was their most dangerous outlet, and the captain in midfield kept the team fighting until the final whistle.

Season Impact

The win lifts Drina Zvornik’s confidence and strengthens their position in the BIH PL-RS standings. Rudar Prijedor will feel they deserved something from the game, but the result highlights how costly small defensive lapses can be in this league. The head-to-head record now gives Drina a slight psychological edge for the return fixture.
