HŠK Posušje 2-0 Sloboda claimed a solid home win in the BIH PL-FBiH on October 4, 2026, scoring once in each half to see off a determined Sloboda side. Posušje were the sharper team throughout, creating the better chances and defending their lead with maturity. The victory strengthens their position in the upper part of the table and continues their strong form on home soil.

Match Overview

HŠK Posušje started the match with clear attacking intent. Their midfield pressed high, their wingers stretched the pitch, and their full-backs overlapped regularly to create numerical advantages out wide. Sloboda initially tried to absorb pressure and hit on the counter, but they struggled to keep possession for long enough to relieve the pressure on their defence. Posušje’s breakthrough came midway through the first half after a patient build-up ended with a precise finish inside the penalty area.

After taking the lead, Posušje did not sit back. They continued to probe and nearly doubled their advantage before the break. Sloboda improved after half-time, pushing their midfield higher and winning several set-pieces, but they could not find a way past a well-organised Posušje back line. The home side sealed the win in the second half with a goal on the counter-attack, effectively ending Sloboda’s hopes of a comeback.

Key Moments

• 23rd minute: HŠK Posušje take the lead with a composed finish after a flowing move down the left.

• 57th minute: Posušje goalkeeper makes a strong save from a dipping free-kick.

• 86th minute: Sloboda push bodies forward but Posušje hold firm to keep the clean sheet.

Tactical Story

Posušje set up in a 4-3-3 and used their wide forwards to pin Sloboda’s full-backs deep. That width created space for the central midfielders to advance and support the striker. Defensively, Posušje were compact and disciplined, rarely allowing Sloboda’s attackers to turn and run at the back line. Their pressing traps in midfield were particularly effective, forcing several turnovers in dangerous areas.

Sloboda’s 4-2-3-1 struggled to connect midfield and attack. Their No. 10 dropped deep to receive the ball, but that left the centre-forward isolated against two centre-backs. When Sloboda did manage to get wide, their crosses were well defended by Posušje’s centre-backs. The visitors’ best moments came from set-pieces, but they lacked the final delivery to seriously trouble the scoreline.

Standout Players

Posušje’s midfield anchor was the engine of the team, breaking up play and recycling possession efficiently. The left winger was a constant threat, involved in the build-up to the first goal and stretching Sloboda’s defence throughout. The centre-forward’s movement created space for others and was rewarded with a well-taken goal. For Sloboda, the goalkeeper kept the score respectable with several good saves, while their captain tried to drive the team forward from midfield.

Season Impact

The win keeps HŠK Posušje in the promotion conversation in the BIH PL-FBiH. A 2-0 home victory, combined with a clean sheet, is a strong statement of intent. Sloboda will be disappointed to leave empty-handed but can take some encouragement from their second-half improvement. Posušje now look ahead to their next fixture with confidence, knowing that their home form could be a decisive factor in the race for the top positions.
