Al Hidd started with intent, pressing high and forcing a couple of early corners. However, Al-Ittifaq's defence stood firm, with the goalkeeper claiming crosses confidently. The first half was largely a midfield battle, with neither side able to string together more than a few passes in the attacking third. Al Hidd pushed for an equaliser, making attacking substitutions, but Al-Ittifaq's back line remained organised. A late free-kick for Al Hidd was tipped over the bar, and the visitors held on for a valuable clean sheet.

Tactical Story

The visitors focused on winning second balls and launching quick counter-attacks, a strategy that produced the only goal. Al Hidd's full-backs pushed high, leaving space in behind, which Al-Ittifaq nearly exploited on several occasions.

In the final 20 minutes, Al Hidd switched to a 3-4-3 to overload the flanks. It led to a flurry of crosses, but Al-Ittifaq's centre-backs dealt with the aerial threat. The visitors' game management in the closing stages was professional, slowing the tempo and taking the sting out of the game.
