Olympic Charleroi produced a strong attacking performance to beat RWDM Brussels 3-1 in the Belgian First Amateur Division on October 18, 2026, with a decisive second-half spell sealing the points.

Charleroi set the tone with an energetic start and were rewarded with the opening goal. RWDM Brussels stayed in the contest and pulled one back, but the home side’s greater cutting edge in the final third made the difference in a lively encounter.

Match Overview

The game opened at a quick pace, with Olympic Charleroi pressing aggressively and forcing RWDM into hurried clearances. Charleroi’s movement in wide areas created repeated crossing opportunities, and their lead was deserved. RWDM responded with a better spell either side of half-time, but Charleroi regained control and added further goals to put the result beyond doubt.

Key Moments

• First goal: Luca Ferrara opened the scoring for Olympic Charleroi after a well-worked move down the right.
• Second goal: Milan De Ridder doubled the lead with a composed finish inside the penalty area.
• RWDM lifeline: Jordy Croux pulled one back for the visitors to set up a tense finish.
• Late clincher: Noah Vandenberghe restored Charleroi’s two-goal cushion and secured the 3-1 win.

Tactical Story

Olympic Charleroi’s success came from aggressive pressing and quick transitions. They won the ball back high and attacked before RWDM’s defence could settle. RWDM Brussels enjoyed longer spells of possession but struggled to break through a compact Charleroi back line. When the visitors did find space, Charleroi’s goalkeeper was alert, and the home side’s superior efficiency in front of goal proved decisive.

Standout Players

Ferrara and De Ridder were central to Charleroi’s attacking threat, while Vandenberghe’s late goal showed the depth of the home side’s options. For RWDM, Croux’s goal was a bright moment, but the visitors could not build enough momentum to complete a comeback.

Season Impact

The three points give Olympic Charleroi a valuable boost in the Belgian First Amateur Division standings and underline their ability to turn pressure into goals. RWDM Brussels will be disappointed with the defensive lapses but can take positives from their response after falling behind.
