Leuven B claimed an impressive 3-1 victory over Lyra-Lierse Berlaar in the Belgian First Amateur Division on Sunday evening, with a dominant first-half display setting up a comfortable win at the OH Leuven training complex.

First Half: Leuven B Dominate

Leuven B started on the front foot and took the lead in the 18th minute. A slick passing move ended with Bram Van Hamme firing a low shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the box. The young Leuven side, known for their technical style, continued to dictate the tempo.

Their pressure paid off again in the 41st minute when a dangerous cross from the right was turned in by Lucas Verstraete at the near post. Lyra-Lierse Berlaar had barely had a sight of goal, and Leuven B went into the break with a deserved 2-0 lead.

Second Half: Lyra-Lierse Pull One Back, Leuven Seal It

Lyra-Lierse came out with more purpose after the interval and halved the deficit in the 52nd minute. A long ball over the top found Yannick Loemba, who raced clear and finished calmly past the goalkeeper. That goal gave the visitors hope, and they enjoyed a brief spell of pressure.

However, Leuven B restored their two-goal cushion in the 65th minute. Bram Van Hamme grabbed his second of the game, reacting quickest to a loose ball in the box and poking it home from close range. The goal effectively ended the contest, and Leuven B managed the game professionally thereafter.

Standout Players

• Bram Van Hamme (Leuven B): Two goals and a constant threat with his movement and finishing.
• Lucas Verstraete (Leuven B): Solid in midfield and scored a well-taken goal.
• Yannick Loemba (Lyra-Lierse Berlaar): Took his goal well and was the visitors' brightest spark.

League Context

The win keeps Leuven B in the hunt for promotion from the Belgian First Amateur Division. Their blend of youthful energy and tactical discipline makes them a dangerous opponent. Lyra-Lierse Berlaar, meanwhile, will be disappointed with their first-half performance but can take heart from their improved second-half showing. Both teams continue their campaigns next weekend.
