Dessel Sport refused to lie down after falling two goals behind early on, and their comeback turned the game into a classic. However, Belisia found one final moment of quality late on to claim all three points and leave Dessel with nothing despite a brave performance.

Tactical Story

Belisia Bilzen’s pressing caused Dessel problems in the first half, especially when the home side tried to play out from the back. Their midfield won several second balls and their forwards made intelligent runs in behind. The early two-goal cushion allowed them to play with more freedom, though it also invited Dessel back into the game.

Dessel Sport’s response was built on width and crosses. As the match became more open, their wide players found space and delivered dangerous balls into the box. Belisia’s defensive line struggled at times with that supply, but their ability to counter-attack at speed proved the difference. Both teams committed numbers forward in the second half, creating a game that was tactically loose but hugely entertaining.

Standout Players

Belisia’s centre-forward was central to the win, leading the line with strength and scoring the decisive late goal. Their midfield also deserves credit for the energy they brought in transition. For Dessel Sport, the wide attacker who provided several dangerous deliveries was a constant threat, while their substitute forward made an impact by helping turn the game into a contest after the early setback.

Season Impact

The three points are a significant boost for Belisia Bilzen in the Belgian First Amateur Division standings, especially coming from an away match of such intensity. Dessel Sport will be frustrated to have scored three goals at home and still lost, but their fighting spirit will be a positive to take forward. Defensively, both sides will have plenty to review after a match that exposed gaps but delivered unforgettable drama.
