Full-time: Belisia Bilzen 0-3 Thes Sport

Thes Sport delivered one of their most complete away displays of the season, defeating Belisia Bilzen 3-0 in the Belgian First Amateur Division. A fast start, a second goal before half-time, and a third after the break allowed the visitors to control the contest from start to finish, leaving Belisia with plenty to ponder after a difficult home outing.

Match overview

Thes Sport set the tone inside the opening ten minutes, pressing Belisia Bilzen high and forcing errors in the home side’s build-up. That early pressure paid off when a turnover led to the opening goal, finished with composure inside the penalty area. Belisia tried to respond, but their passing was often rushed, and Thes Sport’s midfield continued to win the second balls.

The visitors doubled their advantage shortly before half-time with a well-worked move down the right flank. A low cross was met at the back post, and the finish gave the Belisia goalkeeper no chance. The home side’s best spell came at the start of the second half, but Thes Sport weathered it before adding a third goal that effectively ended the contest.

Tactical story

Thes Sport’s high pressing was the defining feature of the match. They denied Belisia time on the ball, forced long passes, and repeatedly won possession in areas where they could attack immediately. Their midfield trio worked as a unit, closing central spaces and allowing the front line to stay aggressive.

Belisia Bilzen struggled to build from the back and were often limited to hopeful deliveries. When they did manage to get into wide areas, Thes Sport’s defenders dealt with the crosses comfortably. The visitors also managed the game well after scoring the third, slowing the tempo and protecting their clean sheet without taking unnecessary risks.

Standout performers

Thes Sport’s forward line was relentless, with the opening scorer setting the tone and the wide attackers causing problems throughout. The central midfielder who dictated the tempo also deserves mention for controlling the game after the second goal. For Belisia, the goalkeeper prevented a heavier defeat with several saves, while the captain tried to drive the team forward from midfield.

Season impact

This 3-0 win is a statement result for Thes Sport in the Belgian First Amateur Division, boosting their goal difference and confidence on the road. It also highlights their credentials as a side capable of punishing mistakes and managing leads. Belisia Bilzen, by contrast, will need to address their struggles in possession and their vulnerability to high pressing. The home side remain in search of consistency, and this defeat will sharpen the focus on their next fixture.
