RAAL La Louvière Cruise to 4-0 Belgian Cup Win Over RFC de Liege

RAAL La Louvière delivered one of the most emphatic performances of the Belgian Cup round, defeating RFC de Liege 4-0 on 18 October 2026. Four unanswered goals underlined La Louvière's superiority, with a clinical attacking display and a solid defensive effort combining to produce a comfortable and convincing victory.

Match overview

RAAL La Louvière set the tone early, pressing with intent and moving the ball quickly in the final third. RFC de Liege struggled to settle, and the pressure soon told as La Louvière opened the scoring. Rather than sitting on the lead, the hosts kept pushing, doubling their advantage before half-time and effectively taking control of the tie.

The second half followed a similar pattern. RFC de Liege tried to regroup, but La Louvière's intensity and movement proved too much. Two further goals rounded off the scoring and turned the contest into a comprehensive cup victory.

Key moments

• Early opener: La Louvière broke the deadlock with a well-worked attacking move, setting the tone for the afternoon.
• Second before the break: The hosts doubled their lead and gave themselves breathing room heading into half-time.
• Second-half finish: Two more goals after the interval completed a dominant scoreline and ended any hope of an RFC de Liege comeback.

Tactical story

La Louvière's victory was built on aggressive pressing and quick ball circulation. They won possession high up the pitch, created overloads in wide areas, and attacked the box with purpose. RFC de Liege were often forced into hurried clearances and struggled to string together enough passes to relieve pressure.

The most impressive aspect of La Louvière's display was their ruthlessness. Scoring four goals in a cup tie requires more than dominance; it requires focus in the final third. La Louvière kept their intensity even after taking a comfortable lead, and that mentality turned a strong performance into a statement result.

Standout performers and cup outlook

La Louvière's attacking unit will take the headlines, but the clean sheet was equally important. The defence remained alert, dealt with RFC de Liege's sporadic counterattacks, and ensured the match never became nervy. In midfield, the hosts controlled the rhythm and repeatedly turned defence into attack.

For RFC de Liege, this was a difficult evening, but cup football can produce harsh scorelines when a team concedes early and is forced to chase the game. For RAAL La Louvière, the 4-0 win is a confidence boost and a clear warning to future opponents: they have the attacking firepower to turn dominant spells into goals.
