VfB Hohenems produced a professional, controlled display to defeat SC Imst 2-0 in the Austrian 3.Liga, combining defensive solidity with sharp finishing at the other end. The clean sheet will please the coaching staff as much as the goals, highlighting a team capable of grinding out results in a competitive regional division.

Match Overview

Hohenems approached the fixture with clear intent, dominating possession in the early exchanges and pinning SC Imst back in their own half. The visitors defended in numbers and looked to spring counter-attacks, but they were repeatedly repelled by a well-organised home backline that rarely looked troubled.

In the Austrian 3.Liga, matches are often decided by fine margins, and Hohenems' ability to stay compact while still creating chances made the difference here.

Key Moments

• Opening goal: Hohenems broke the deadlock with a well-worked move that unlocked a deep-lying Imst defence.
• Second goal: The lead was doubled as the home side capitalised on growing pressure, effectively settling the contest.
• Defensive resilience: Imst's best chances were snuffed out, with blocks and interceptions keeping the clean sheet intact.
• Late control: Hohenems managed the closing period intelligently, slowing the tempo and protecting the result.

Tactical Story

The hosts set up to control the game through midfield, circulating the ball patiently and waiting for gaps to appear. Imst's deep block frustrated Hohenems at times, but persistent wing play and intelligent movement eventually created the openings needed.

Once ahead, Hohenems showed maturity, dropping their defensive line slightly and inviting pressure only to break quickly on the counter. That balance between caution and ambition is a hallmark of sides that climb the Austrian 3.Liga standings.

Standout Performers

The Hohenems goalkeeper and centre-backs deserve credit for a composed shutout, while the attacking unit was efficient, converting a modest number of clear chances into two decisive goals. For SC Imst, the midfield worked hard but lacked the final pass to genuinely trouble the home defence.

Season Impact

Three points and a clean sheet represent an ideal afternoon for VfB Hohenems, strengthening their position and confidence. SC Imst will return to the training ground focused on creativity in the final third, knowing that away fixtures in this division demand sharper finishing.
