SV Wals-Grunau secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Union Dietach in the Austrian 3.Liga on September 26, 2026, with a commanding display at their home ground. The win keeps Wals-Grunau in the hunt for promotion while deepening Dietach's relegation worries.

Match Overview

Wals-Grunau were in control from the outset, dictating the tempo and creating chances at will. They took the lead in the 18th minute and never looked back, adding two more goals in a dominant second-half performance. Dietach offered little going forward and were fortunate to escape with only a three-goal deficit.

Key Moments

• 18' – 1-0 Felix Bauer opens the scoring with a powerful header from a corner.
• 52' – 2-0 Julian Moser doubles the lead, finishing off a slick team move with a precise low shot.
• 75' – 3-0 Bauer gets his second of the game, converting a penalty after Moser was fouled in the box.

Tactical Story

Wals-Grunau employed a high-pressing 4-2-3-1 system that suffocated Dietach's attempts to play out from the back. The midfield duo of Simon Hofer and Lukas Steiner won the battle in the centre, allowing the attacking players to flourish. Dietach's 5-4-1 formation was designed to frustrate, but once the first goal went in, their game plan fell apart.

Standout Players

Felix Bauer was outstanding, scoring twice and leading the line with intelligence. Julian Moser was a constant threat with his dribbling and link-up play. For Dietach, goalkeeper Michael Gruber made several saves to prevent a heavier defeat.

League Table Impact

Wals-Grunau move up to 4th in the Austrian 3.Liga, just two points off the top. Union Dietach remain bottom of the table, and their defensive frailties were exposed once again. With this result, Wals-Grunau send a clear message that they are serious contenders for promotion.
