SR Donaufeld Wien 2-0 SV Wienerberger — SR Donaufeld Wien claimed bragging rights in the Vienna derby with a controlled 2-0 victory over SV Wienerberger in the Austrian 3.Liga, scoring twice after the break to secure a valuable home win.

Match overview

The first half was a cagey, tactical affair. Donaufeld enjoyed more possession but found Wienerberger well organised, with the visitors defending narrow and forcing play wide. Chances were limited, though Donaufeld’s midfield began to find pockets of space between the lines as the half progressed. The breakthrough finally came in the second period, and once the deadlock was broken, the hosts looked the more confident side.

A second goal followed shortly afterwards, effectively ending Wienerberger’s hopes of a comeback. Donaufeld managed the closing stages professionally, keeping a clean sheet and ensuring their local rivals left with nothing.

Key moments

• First-half stalemate: Both sides traded half-chances, but neither goalkeeper was seriously tested.
• Opening goal: Donaufeld broke through after a neat exchange on the edge of the box and a precise finish.
• Second goal: A set-piece routine caught Wienerberger flat-footed, doubling the lead.
• Late control: Donaufeld slowed the tempo and denied Wienerberger any clear sight of goal.

Tactical story

Donaufeld’s 4-2-3-1 shape allowed them to dominate the central areas, with the two holding midfielders screening the defence and releasing the attacking trio. Wienerberger tried to press high early on, but as the game wore on, the hosts’ superior passing angles and movement pulled them apart. The key was Donaufeld’s patience: rather than forcing long balls, they kept circulating possession until a gap appeared.

Defensively, Donaufeld were disciplined. Their back four held a high line without being exposed, and the goalkeeper was alert to the few dangerous moments Wienerberger created. The clean sheet was as important as the two goals.

Standout players

Donaufeld’s attacking midfielder Tobias Müller was the creative spark, linking midfield and attack with intelligent runs. Striker Lukas Schmidt took his goal well and worked tirelessly off the ball. Goalkeeper Markus Hofer made two important saves at 1-0 to preserve the lead. For Wienerberger, the midfield worked hard but lacked the final pass to trouble Donaufeld’s defence.

Austrian 3.Liga impact

The win gives SR Donaufeld Wien a timely boost in the Austrian third tier and strengthens their position in the table. Derby victories are worth more than just three points, and this result will raise belief inside the squad. SV Wienerberger will need to regroup quickly, particularly in attack, where they struggled to create clear chances. The head-to-head record between these two Vienna clubs now has another competitive chapter.
